I'm having problems with Internet Explorer.
I am looking for help.
Before I go on...
Yes, I am logged on.
Seems I have a text sizing issue with IE.
Suddenly started last week. Text sizing won't stay consistent. I open a new tab or window and I get tiny text. Usually when I refresh a time or two or three, it'll straighten itself out.
Then other times, it goes larger instead of correct size.
I've messed with zoom. I've messed with text size.
I also have a problem with boxes that I have to type in. No matter the zoom level or text size setting, I have a small box and small texting. Smaller than the surrounding text, outside of the dialog box.
Boxes such as the boxes for replies, here at FR. Or the boxes for making this post.
Googles box is the same way.
As is Youtubes.
Also, when I go to Web Sudoku, the boxes are tiny with tiny numbers.
Lastly, at the top of the browse page for FreeRepublic, "Free Republic" is in very large letters as opposed to the Forum Account Mail...
Here is another thing.
Firefox is normal.
So it's definitely a IE issue.

Help with the IE issue would be appreciated.

Which version of IE?
Did you install any new software or do any updates around the time the problem started?
Did Windows do an upgrade/update to your IE? If so, it may have reset your preferences.
It's a breaking computer.
I'm unaware of any updates done.
Check your compatibility settings under tools- try flipping the switch- on/off or off/on
I’d only use IE as a last resort. I’ve probably used it 2x in the last year. Balmer is the anti-Christ.
But that doesn't seem to be it.
I occasionally use IE9, but not 10 or 11.
You might check under VIEW for text settings, if 11 has that.

I never had the opportunity to use Windows 8 more than a couple of weeks.
In my experience, windows 10 is the worst mess I have ever used since Windows 3.1.
I am a retired Civil Engineer, I use windows 10, I.E. 11 and the usual software of the home user, MS office and some legacy simple photo editing software, Adobe Acrobat, anti-virus software, etc.
Every time Microsoft pushes an "automatic" update at least one app gets hosed; if I'm lucky I only lose my preferences.
The file system W10 uses is a freaking nightmare; after the simple, straightforward filing tree system of win 7, the unpredictability is mind-blowing.
As with every other attempt in history, designing a system that will work for every known device is a fool's errand, and has never worked for the attempt to be "all things to all devices," and failing at them all.
After 23+ years of DOS and Windows, I see Linux in my future or, if I can afford it, Apple.
To add insult to injury, MS seems determined to "upgrade" every win 7 system remaining without the users' consent. Good luck to them!
Before you start IE next time, ctr-alt-del and make sure all the Internet Explorer processes are terminated. A frozen process can prevent other processes from the same app from saving settings. Also... this is a long shot but it’s happened to me. Make sure none of your keys, especially the Ctrl key, don’t stick.
Do you have ‘automatic image resizing’ enabled?
It’s under ‘multimedia’ section in the ‘advanced’ tab of the ‘Internet Options’ under the “Tools” tab.
Also, be reminded that most changes made in options require the IE be restarted to take effect.
Go get Chrome. Loads much quicker, easier to navigate. Microsoft is dumping support for much of IE anyway,pushing Edge...and itis just as buggy.
I have no problems with IE.....I deleted anything and everything on my computer that even remotely sounded like “chrome”......screw Google.
I like the classic user interface in previous editions, but has been removed from Win10. I tried the Win10 on an extra hard drive and did not like it at all. Win10 sidebars were invisible, as were most links and the window frames.
I reluctantly went from XP to 7 several years ago. Lost several hardware [scanner, printer, CD-RW drive] and software when I upgraded to XP. Similar with the XP to 7 upgrade — several software and a laser printer [no driver for Win7 64-bit].
I know with Win10 I would lose most of the productivity utilities I use with several browsers and other purposes. I am staying with 7 as long as possible. Since I am retired, I do not have heavy productivity requirements, but I do still use some older software to accomplish specific tasks. The older programs are easier to use than the newer updated crapola versions.
And whoever invented that ribbon menu system should be shot — and don’t even wait for sunrise. That is the most cumbersome and confusing invention in decades. The ribbom menu in some software programs takes up an inch or more of screen space and I have found no way to shrink the size. And I have a 24” widescreen monitor.
