“Something came across my Facebook today which said Trump compared himself to Jesus and said he didnât need a âsilly crossâ Now Iâve taken it with a huge grain of salt but if gdue, just wow!”
Somebody somewhere posted something on the internet and of course I’m skeptical, but if it’s true, just wow!
You betcha!!!
You betcha!!!
I'll just say "serious" may not be the best adjective for that scenario.
Absolutely.
Can you tell me with a straight face that your candidate would not be ecstatic with such amazing national numbers?
Of course he would. But, so what? Again, at this stage of the game--when most candidates have limited their campaigning to a few early states--any national poll is meaningless because results are skewed by name (non-)recognition. What really matters now are the polls in those early states.
Come on admit it, or you are in danger of hypocrisy.
I'll admit you left out the possibility that you simply didn't realize how these things work.
I think a certain cream eating Cuban preacher was one of the non voters.
This is a serious accusation, Jim. I ask you a second time, please explain.
The first guy repeats profane fb rumor that Trump compared himself to Jesus and said he didn’t need a “silly cross” and you appeared to agree with him and used it to slam Trump.
.
No, I wasn't agreeing with it. Buckeye49 pointed out that it was unsourced and should be taken with a grain of salt, and I understood his/her point. I've been in journalism and publishing long enough to understand the flimsiness of unsourced material. Nevertheless, I still have an opinion on Trump.
In my response, I made the point that Trump actually can say or do just about anything without paying a price. It's also true that, the more outlandish he is, the higher his numbers go. So, yes, I dissed Trump because I do find him to be an odious individual. But I don't see where my expressing my opinion of Trump has any correlation whatsoever with dissing the Savior.
Everything he says is sloppily phrased. He's a very inarticulate man. I was unfamiliar with him since I have no interest in pop culture or reality TV. The first few times I heard him speak, I thought he was just having some bad days. Now that he's been on the TV screen INCESSANTLY for over six months, I realize what an awful speaker he is. He brags that he doesn't use teleprompters. If anyone ever needed them, it's Trump!
That said, I do believe there's method to his madness. His phrasing is such that he can re-manipulate the words in a week or a month and say something entirely opposite of what he first said. His words are "squishy." His thoughts are disjointed. In interviews, he is constantly muddying the waters when someone backs him into a corner where he has to take a principled stand.
I'm incredulous as I watch him manipulate all the media and a good portion of the electorate, but I'm also angry. I detest when someone talks out of both sides of their mouth. It's such a weasel-y (sp?) thing to do.
