Somethin' about Ted- Was he separated at birth from Al Gore? (Vanity)

I am trying as hard as possible to get aboard the Ted Cruz bandwagon, but there is somethin' about Ted.

Listening to Rush' radio program this morning, I heard an ad by the Cruz campaign, and it hit me... Ted sounded exactly like Al Gore. Not his positions, mind you, but the manner of his delivery, his style, his slick way with words and delivery. At one point, he raised his voice in excitement, almost yelling and then "growled" in the manner Gore displayed when the campaign got tough.

I encourage someone to get videos of the two and sound recordings. Not only are their styles the same, they eerily have a similar appearance and delivery method.

No matter the policy, one has to like and feel comfortable to vote for a candidate.

I found Gore to be offensive and phony.

I regret that I find Cruz to be the same.

Some statements deserve to be bashed.

Most people do, and always have. Cruz is not the narcissist Obama is, but he’s just as convinced of his own superiority, and it’s rubbed people the wrong way his whole life. He’s admitted as much.

It wasn’t, but the mannerism is the same. Mannerisms such as this shouldn’t matter...but unfortunately, they do.

Yes, that is true, but there are many LIVs who don’t necessarily think about the important things but focus on looks, mannerisms, voice, etc.

Yes, that is definitely true, but FR does not represent the entire voting population...so it is an issue.

[[Why is it when people say there is something about Ted, they utterly refuse to be objective with their own preferred candidate?]]

Because Ted has an ‘air about him’ (according to those who hate him), that makes him appear arrogant and preachy- this image has been built by the MSM and the GOP-e- that is the ‘something’ that people now don’t like- but like you say- the people who say this ignore the fact that their candidate is every bit as, perhaps even more so, arrogant than he-

I think it’s just the fact that he comes across as ‘arrogant acting’ (to those who hate him) and it’s also his gestures and postures that might rub people the wrong way and cause them not to trust him (It’s the way he smirks- it seems arrogant to people I guess- I think it’s also the way he jerks about some- acting nervous etc- that plays on people psychologically- I don’t mind it at all- but people I speak to thinks he’s really arrogant for some reason- just trying to figure out why they think he is but they don’t think Donald’s over the top arrogance is a problem- they accept Donald, but really despise Ted for some reason)- Donald is way more arrogant acting and sounding, but he delivers it better- Bush is just as arrogant, but also has a delivery problem and just comes off as a whiny loser-

How could someone that’s been on FR since 2000 have learned so little.

I really don't care about Ted Cruz's speaking style or how he looks. I care that he champions and defends conservative principles in both word and deed, and will not back down from doing so if elected.

I'm not trying to find a teen idol to worship, I'm trying to find a good president.

How deep of you. You must be right — the way Ted Cruz talks just *sounds* weird.

Sheesh.

So, it is fair to demean Trump because of the way he *looks*? Is his goofy hair a legitimate way we can evaluate and denounce him?

“I am trying as hard as possible to get aboard the Ted Cruz bandwagon ...”

You lie. You’ve been pro-Trump since August 2015, the month you came out of Freeper hibernation.

Low blow.

Speaking of low blows, you are perfectly qualified to be a Trump Cheerleader.

Well, if we’re judging by voice tone, Obama should be your number 1 candidate because of that “deep tone” like Netanyahu.

Perhaps this is because Ted Cruz and Gore are both religious extremists. Gore’s religion is climate change, and Cruz’s religion is the fundy, thumper, dominion type.

The voicing sounds phony because it is all scripted and rehearsed for effect to woo and seduce the thumpers.

That is your view, not mine. The problem with Obama is that while he may have a deeper tone in his voice, he can not string more than three words together without pausing. He is horrible speaker contemporaneous speaker.

Obviously you take time to listen to Obama’s “deep tone” voice and are projecting your own enamoration onto to others. I was talking about the top two contenders in the Republican Primary. Perhaps you might want to compare and contrast those.

You really bought that hook, line and sinker. Who gives a crap about how beautiful their speaking voice is as far as candidates go? Silly and shallow, but it makes for posting material as long as it somehow hurts Cruz.

If it was a serious problem, I seriously doubt that Ted Cruz would have such a spectacular record as an appellate attorney who has successfully argued multiple cases in the highest courts in the land.
