But most of the movies nominated are movies nobody has seen.
But a black guy is hosting it, so what’s the problem?
>> As if the Award shows weren’t non-issues already...
Really? I haven’t seen an awards show in years because they had become so much of an event where: Hollywood elites arrive in limousines 25 feet long, the women step out wearing dresses costing $30,000, jewelry that costs another $30,000, then go inside and tell the world how the evil Republicans are consuming more than their “fair share” of the world’s resources.
Exactly, the Academy never favors the movies the general public likes.
Call Jesse Jackson stat!
They like the movies about gay cowboys eating pudding.
In that sense they are, but does it matter? Nobody remembers most of the Oscars from 10 years ago. It’s just hollyweirdos smugly celebrating their wealth.
Typical Oscar Speech.....
“I hate Republicans.” *laughter*
“Republicans are stupid.” *laughter*
“I hate Republicans.” *laughter*
The workplace is increasingly politicized.
People turn to movies for suspension of disbelieve in a NON-political setting —this way they can re-charge before returning to their politicized workplaces.
But more and more, movies are politicized.
This is also true of football and other sports.
The more political they are the less the reason to turn to them.
Well that’s true. It seems to be that way every year. But what it does do is get people to see the movies nominated. You will see SOME of the movies doing well the next few weeks.
So in other words, the Oscars are a scam to get people to watch movies that otherwise nobody would watch.
I’m sorry, but I’m wondering, what is the percentage quota for Amish at the Oscars?
lol. Of course. I think they even admit it.
Somehow I stumbled across “Carbanaro Effect” last night on TV, watched a few 30 minute episodes. The guy is a magician who dupes unsuspecting people in set up scenarios. The vast majority of the people he duped were black.
Watching the show, you think it’s pretty good, but stepping back and looking at the big picture, a lot of people think it racist.
Because we al know that the Canadian wilderness was first explored and mapped by Hottentots and Bushmen.
Historical accuracy is rayciss!
Sirico was the best picture, the best screenplay, had the best original score, and had the best actor, Bernecio del Toro, IMHO. It wasn’t even close.
Well, some people are very credulous, and that credulousness is sometimes cultural.
Some people also believe in magic as adults. That could be cultural too.
Good points.
They should nominate “Shaft,” “Blacula” and “The Wiz” to keep the natives settled.
