The Court made it crystal clear that American citizenship is defined only two ways - by the 14th Amendment and congressional statutes. Put simply, a citizen is either natural born or naturalized. Sen. Cruz was not naturalized, so he is natural born. Period. If there has to be one-final-article on this subject posted, I'm glad this was the one. Thanks

Since the Constitution gave Congress the sole authority to define citizenship in the Citizenship Clause, and since the Supreme Court has ruled that their are only two kinds of Citizens, those who are citizens at birth and those who are naturalized, this is a matter of settled law.
Of course, for birthers it won’t be.

This is just so sad to me. The Constitution was written so that all could understand it. We don’t need so called scholars to explain what is obvious to most.
I went to school during the 60’s we learned in the 4th grade what NBC meant. I am so sick and tired of traditional words having their meaning changed, like marriage.
Cruz was my first choice, after TPA he became my second. Now, not so much.

If Ted Cruz is a "natural born citizen," eligible to be president, what was all the fuss about Obama being born in Kenya? No one disputed that Obama's mother was a U.S. Citizen. Because Obama entered 'foreign born' on his Harvard application?

All I can say is "holy misrepresentation of the case!" The author knows few people will actually read the case.
Oh well, one more liar on the pile.
Bellei was not "born . . . in the United States," but he was, constitutionally speaking, "naturalized in the United States.

Is the definition you were taught in grade school given in the Constitution? If so, please notify the Supreme Court, since they have already ruled that there are only two kinds of citizens, those who are citizens at birth and those who are naturalized.

Trump is not saying Cruz is ineligible. He is saying the democrats will sue and motion for declaratory judgment. That will cast an enormous cloud of uncertainty while waiting for the decision.
Trump is unfortunately right.
But Ted as Donald’s VP for 8 years will allow the issue to be settled so that Ted can run in 2024.

Is it retroactive, or does that make a difference?
If retroactive, Jughead is NBC and each of his EO’s and o’care etc. are legally enforceable.
Cruz was born in 1970..would this decision make him NBC?..or is the summation of this article an opinion rather than fact?

Obama’s mother did not meet the residency requirement of 14 continuous years by the age of 18.
