Trump is not saying Cruz is ineligible. He is saying the democrats will sue and motion for declaratory judgment. That will cast an enormous cloud of uncertainty while waiting for the decision.

Trump is unfortunately right.

But Ted as Donald’s VP for 8 years will allow the issue to be settled so that Ted can run in 2024.

Democrats will sue over anything. As far as they are concerned, Bush V. Gore isn’t settled. That’s no excuse for caving and allowing them to pick our nominee.

I think everyone here on FR knows that, but the Cruzers studiously avoid knowing that so that they can cast dirt at Trump.

I don't think it will work.

No, Trump is wrong. Many lawsuits were filed contesting Obama's eligibility, and those did not impede Obama from being elected, taking office, and governing. He simply treated them like the nuisance lawsuits they are. Lawyers were assigned to handle them, and Obama moved on.

The same would be true of Cruz. He would assign lawyers to deal with the nuisance lawsuits, and he would move on. The idea that (as Trump suggested today) Cruz should leave the race out of fear of a Democratic lawsuit against him is, frankly, idiotic.

It would cast the same cloud if Cruz were Trump's VP.

In order to serve as VP, you must be eligible to serve as President.

Trump is stirring the pot to get Ted voters.
In your dreams. A principled man like Ted will never work for a pretend braggart with so little knowledge, who waves the bible and can’t say his favorite verse and trashed Scalia.

.
You were doing just fine until you wrote “ That will cast an enormous cloud of uncertainty while waiting for the decision.”

That is simply not factual.

No court, even the 9th circus, would participate in that charade.
