Who was Aldo Mario Bellei, and why should Donald Trump care and Harvard Professor Laurence Tribe know? Because Mr. Bellei puts the lie to Donald Trump's attack on the eligibility of Senator Ted Cruz to be president backed up by Professor Tribe's claim that "[t]he Supreme Court has never addressed the issue.

Democrats will sue over anything. As far as they are concerned, Bush V. Gore isn’t settled. That’s no excuse for caving and allowing them to pick our nominee.

Read the supreme court proceeding of the case referenced which do not support the contentions of the article posed. Again the media try and buffalo us.

If Rafael Eduardo Cruz is eligible for the presidency then so is the King of Jordan. Outside of 14 years of U.S. residency, their situations are identical: (1) American mother, (2) foreign-national father, (3) born on foreign soil.

It will have to come from the SCOTUS.

The year of the ruling is not the factor, it is what the law was at the time of his birth.

yes, and the supreme court has also ruled that marriage is between 2 men or 2 women. So, I guess you support that too.

He’s going to show is Consular Record of Birth Abroad when the conflict over the issue peaks. He’ll say it proves he is NBC, but all it proves is what we already accept. He is a citizen by dint of an act of Congress.

There is that sticky residency thingy in your analogy, but if they want to meet that requirement, the way the wrestling fans in this country are voting now, the Prince might just pull it off.

His mother was unable to pass citizenship to him because she did not meet residency requirements as the law was written at the time. The ONLY way Obama could claim citizenship was by virtue of birth on US soil.

As the article pointed out, SCOTUS has already ruled that there are only two kinds of citizens.

According to the Constitution, who defines citizenship? Congress. They do that by Laws.

Trump is not saying Cruz is ineligible. He is saying the democrats will sue and motion for declaratory judgment. That will cast an enormous cloud of uncertainty while waiting for the decision.

I think everyone here on FR knows that, but the Cruzers studiously avoid knowing that so that they can cast dirt at Trump.

I don't think it will work.

This is a "Con". That's why it's called "Con Law."

Actually, this is cynical manipulation of public belief by NWO players. It is going on all the time, blatant lies, and if the right person tells it, the lie is converted to truth. The public will literally and in fact believe the untruth to be a truth.

Once the scales come off your eyes, well, it's like "The Matrix." Fascinating to see the "con" work its magic. I could tell a week ago that it has been determined the Cruz is an NBC, and now the press, the politicians, etc. will "make it so." The public will remain ignorant of the truth, even though the truth is freely available.

I don’t see that the two issues are in any way related.

That’s what I thought, but wasn’t sure. Thanks for the clarification..

The article doesn’t say that, nor the case.

In fact, this bit seem rather interesting:

The very first Congress, at its Second Session, proceeded to implement its power, under the Constitution’s Art. I, § 8, cl. 4, to “establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization” by producing the Act of March 26, 1790, 1 Stat. 103. That statute, among other things, stated,

“And the children of citizens of the United States, that may be born beyond sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens.”

In 2008, the democrat run senate attempted to derail McCain over the natural born citizen issue.

The test the DEMOCRATS applied then against McCain WAS 1. Born on US Soil and 2. BOTH parents US Citizens.

THAT was the test applied to McCain IN CONGRESS (even though Obama was never even challenged there OR by SCROTUS.

Question 1: Can Cruz pass the same senate test as McCain did? McCain was born on a military installation(US soil) to 2 citizen parents.

Question 2: If Democrats were brazen enough to apply the common law definition to McCain while not to Obama, Do we really think they will not attempt to apply it to Cruz???

Don’t get me wrong... I really do want Cruz to be president.

I don’t trust Trump... leaving nobody else I can think of...

But I don’t think this is as settled as most republicans seem to think it is.

Cruz IS vulnerable according to what happened in the senate with McCain in 2008... NOT because of what DIDN’T happen to Obama.

I've heard all of the arguments & have decided he's eligible. You disagree, ok.

Cruz has my support.
