The 18-year-old victim and her father were walking through Osborn Playground in Brownsville at around 9 p.m. Friday when the two were approached by five men, investigators said.
One man brandished a gun and told the teenager's father to leave the area, police said. The girl's father then ran for help, but by the time he returned with two police officers, the five men had raped the teenager and fled, authorities said.

Rape sometimes (most often) leads to the victim literally being destroyed. Whatever innocence and self worth his daughter had is gone after this horrible crime. He killed that by being a coward and not sacrificing himself for his own flesh & blood.

Omg, they know what the guys look like, they ask the public for help, but NBC is afraid to tell us the men have African features. They are black. If they were white, would NBC tell us?

I think a lot of people are here are understandably thinking like free staters, where the good guys are actually allowed to have guns to protect their families. The equation is very different in a pro thug, anti-gun sinkhole like NY.

I did not say it works for me, don’t put words in my mouth. I said that in this guys mind, maybe he figured it was better for both of them to try and stay alive than to be shot dead on the spot.

There is a major difference in the factual scenario of this incident. We are not talking about some nebulous “unarmed person,” we are talking about the girl’s FATHER! That changes the equation completely.
