The hubris from the singularity crowd is piling higher and deeper by the day.
I love sci fi and find the thought experiments of this fascinating... but no one ever, EVER addresses one simple problem with the brain in a robot or brain coded to chip thing.
What happens when ‘you’ wake up and your brain tries to draw breath, you can’t as there are no lungs, and you go into panic mode...which you/your body cannot simply shut down from? And you are locked in that state until someone ‘kills’ you by hitting the off switch.
It’s one thing to ‘wire up’ eyes or ears (which would be supremely difficult in itself). It’s entirely another to deal with basic autonomic functions.
Sounds like hell to me.
Sorry, God says we are appointed once to die...

After that, the judgement.
When I leave this place, I do not want to return.
ok.
so I have a head injury. Thank goodness it’s nothing compared to our poor soldiers, who I would give anything to see their suffering end.
they can’t control my pain, tremors, insomnia and a laundry list of other issues. Have no clue why they are even occurring.
cant fix a single neuron yet.
we have 200k GOOD MEN suffering terribly because they volunteered to protect us.
there is almost no help available or even on the horizon to cure damaged/destroyed nervous system/brain.
but they are going to take a brain and put it in a bionic body?
makes sense.
how about learning 2 percent of what there is to now about the brain first.
There is the question. Are we talking mostly, or all dead?
Yep
Not to worry though. The shape the world is in and as fast as it is turning away from God, especially “Christian nations”, I’m not necessarily counting on the world making it to 2045 for them to find out if they’re right or not.
Instead of curing Alzheimer’s why didn’t Hillary say she’d raise the dead?
Seriously, think of the type of people who could afford the treatment; actors, politicians, George Soros types...The best thing that some people do for humanity is dropping dead. Imagine a Hitler or Stalin alive for centuries. Imagine listening to Jimmy Carter criticize America in 2057.
They should call their company PLAN 9!
I'm not a churchgoer. I do believe, though, that we are body and soul. My personal, not-swayed-by-any-foral-religion view does not like the concept of bodies coming back to life without whatever that something is that makes humans unique.
That’s exactly what will be the result of uploading a mind into a computer, entrapment in a finite universe forever separated from God.
“New company to resurrect the Dead...”
All of them?
Do we have toi pay them not to bring back teddy the loser kennedy?
I saw a movie once, (I think it was on the Outer Limits) where a dead business man was resurrected after being cryogenically frozen. As usual, there’s always a problem with something like that. In this guy’s case he came back without a soul and became a cold blooded murderer......
