I like Grey Goose. It's pretty smooth next to Sky or Smirnoff.
My Preference is Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon. Straight out of the Freezer. Smooth is not really a priority to me I guess.

The only American vodka I have tasted is Pearl. It has a faintly smoky flavor and is good for sipping.
I don't think that many people sip vodka though.
Vodka seems best for mixed drinks or shots, so better to have as little flavor as possible.
My personal favorite is Ketel One for martinis.

I guess you like Chesterton ;)
I will have to try a Ketel One martini ...always looking for a better martini

benzene-alcohol azeotrope.

When I spend money on liquor, it’s on red wine or single malt scotch.
Vodka is mixed with so many other ingredients that it doesn’t make sense to buy the expensive stuff. I like Moscow Mules, so I buy Sam’s club 1.75 liters for $14. Why would I waste money on some esoteric stuff that will be diluted by other flavors?

Costco’s Kirkland brand vodka is actually Gray Goose at a fraction of the price.

Really? I’ll have to check into that. Kirkland brand is not in such a pretty bottle though. LOL

Uh huh...thatâs why Russians are such upbeat cheery people... Actually, you totally mis understand. It is precisely that optimism from drinking vodka that keeps the Russians in the bottle all the time. They need it badly in their country. Doesn't overwhelm the reality of the old Soviet Union or the new oligarchy.....but it does make one feel bullet proof.

Thanks. I’ll give a look for them. Always love experimenting, rarely gone wrong.

One martini I especially like was called a 007 by the bar & grill that served it to me:
One part Ketel One
One part Blue Sapphire
Shake with ice and strain
Tastes like the best spring water ... but with a much bigger kick.
To: Artemis Webb
Drink it ice cold, straight, in shots.
Shudder. Wince.
Then have a Talisker on the rocks and compare heaven to hell.

Bigger kick for sure...what is Blue Spaphire?!
PS...I like olives in my martinis...will that work w/ your martini?!

Blue Sapphire is one of the best gins.
The 007 works well with an olive, a cocktail onion, both, or neither.
An olive stuffed with blue cheese works really well.
To: Hoboken
So funny! I’ll have to try that...or similar * oh gosh *
