Washington (CNN)Donald Trump has hit a new milestone in national polling, garnering 41% of the Republican vote in a new national poll.
Trump is at 41% in a Monmouth University poll out Monday, holding a wide advantage over his GOP challengers. His support was up from 28% in October.
In second was the rising Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, at 14%; followed by Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, at 10%. Ben Carson was at 9%, down 9 points from October, and all other candidates were in the low single digits.

I think I agree with you on that, where Rush is probably personally for Cruz, he is going to continue buttering his bread on all sides.
Apparently, it turns out Rush’s first hour was one thing and his second hour something else, after the new polls were released.
I would hate to have to navigate sitting on razor wire, but he has a great gig going, in doing it deftly.
Seriously, that is funny and I really did laugh out loud.
All of the radio noises lost me in 2012. At the end of the day, not one of them will burn their bridge to the Geriatric Old Plotters. Until the dead weight of that dead party is cast off, no conservative or pro-freedom or pro-prosperity candidate or policy is going anywhere except as a stage prop.
How conservative is being PRO Amnesty?
How conservative is voting to take away the legislative means to prevent a bad law being passed?
How conservative is being owned by the chap labor faction?
How conservative is being able to make a lot of noise on the Senate floor but at the same time alienate the senators on his own side so that nothing is accomplished?
just for starters.
owned by the chap labor
Being owned by the CHEAP labor faction.....
Karl Rove said Trump’s ceiling was 20%.
Molly,
Blymie, Rush Limbaugh has gone wobbly as a result of this Trump insurgency.
Held on for a while, and now is twisting least offensive establishment extablishment candidate.
Fairweather Asshole.
Regarding the patriot support that Trump will need to be a good Constitution-respecting president, please consider the following.
The corrupt, RINO-controlled Congress is letting lawless, last-term Obama get away with stealing legislative branch powers to make unconstitutional executive orders. By letting Obama use their legislative powers to do their dirty work for them, incumbent members of Congress are probably trying to protect their voting records so that they can get reelected next year.
But it remains that Congress has the constitutional authority to stop a president from doing basically anything. And I would not be surprised if Congress makes Trump a lame duck president from his first day in office.
So patriots need to support Trump, or whatever conservative they elect, by also electing a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress, a Congress that will work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support the president, proposing new amendments to the Constitution to the states for new powers if necessary.
An added bonus to such a Congress is that it will be able to fire activist justices.
‘Sometimes Trump goes off - I donât know why. If he thinks thatâs going to get him the black vote, heâs way off-point.’
So true. That Scalia criticism will only harm him. It’s a real disappointment.
1. Trump has been a liberal most of his adult life, registering as a Republican as recently as 2009.
2. Trump has contributed generously to some of the most far left democrats in politics including Hillary Clinton (D-NY), Charles Schumer (D-NY), Terry McAuliffe (D-VA) Anthony Weiner (D-NY), Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Harry Reid (D-NV), Governor Ed Rendell (D-PA), California state attorney general Kamala Harris (D-CA), Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel (D-IL), and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
3. Trump is a crony capitalist, explaining his large contributions to democrats as a necessary tool to conducting business. He apparently believes buying the votes of politicians is an acceptable way of doing business. That, by definition is political corruption. But liberal Donald Trump supports it.
4. Trump supported the ban on "assault weapons", even though there is no such thing as an "assault weapon". Far left anti-gun democrats wanted to ban gun ownership completely. Unable to accomplish that goal they created the term "assault weapon" and applied their own definition for the term so they could ban guns based solely on cosmetic appearances. Being the gullible liberal that he is, Trump both fell for the scheme and supported the ban.
5. As recently as 2013 Trump praised former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg for "Putting his money where his mouth is" in trying to take guns from law-abiding citizens. Michael Bloomberg has spent tens of millions in his quest to disarm America and Donald Trump praised him for it.
6. Trump has been pro-abortion until which time he flirted with running for president. He now claims he no longer is. Believe his campaign rhetoric if you will, but his history says otherwise.
7. While he may claim to be an opponent of Obamacare, Trump is an advocate of single-payer socialized healthcare similar to what is in place in Canada. Yes, Trump supports the worst version of socialized healthcare. He has said, "The Canadian plan also helps Canadians live longer and healthier than America. We need, as a nation, to reexamine the single-payer plan, as many individual states are doing. While we work out details of a new single-payer plan, there are a number of ways to make the health care system now in place work more efficiently."
8. Trump believes in using eminent domain for the taking of private property from US citizens for his personal gain. He proved this when he tried exploiting such laws to take elderly widow Vera Coking's property so he could build a parking lot for limousines. Fortunately, the widow prevailed. He also said he supported the United States Supreme Court's Kelo decision which resulted in the taking of private land from a private party so Pfizer Pharmaceuticals could build a plant. That family lost their land and to date nothing has been built on it. It should be noted that conservatives Rehnquist, Thomas and Scalia all voted against this rotten scheme. Liberals on the court supported it, as did liberal Donald Trump.
9. Trump has said the economy does better under democrat control (we're $18 trillion in debt and climbing thanks to the dems). He also said George W. Bush was the worst president this country has ever had. Worse than the lying rapist Bill Clinton? In the mind of Donald Trump, that answer is YES because he has also said of the past four presidents, Bill Clinton was his favorite.
10. As of 2009, Donald Trump is a registered Republican. But in an interview with CNN's Wolfe Blitzer, Trump said, "I probably identify more as a democrat." His record above lends credence to that comment. You are supporting and putting your trust in a liberal.
11. Liberal Trump supported the bank bailouts. He said, "Now, I did not know about a $700 billion bailout, in all fairness. And I think probably, it is something â itâs sad, but, probably, itâs something that has to get done, because your financial system is most likely going to come to a halt if it does not. So, it is a pretty sad day for this country."
12. And the auto bailouts: âI think the government should stand behind them 100 percent. You cannot lose the auto companies. Theyâre great. They make wonderful products.â
13. He really liked the stimulus package: âI thought he did a terrific job,â Trump told Fox Newsâs Greta Van Susteren. âThis is a strong guy [Obama] knows what he wants, and this is what we need. First of all, I thought he did a great job tonight,â said Trump. âI thought he was strong and smart, and it looks like we have somebody that knows what he is doing finally in office, and he did inherit a tremendous problem. He really stepped into a mess, Greta.â
14. And he likes taxes: âWell, I think taxes are very good. I think it goes quickly. It is easily done, and etc., etc.,â Trump told Van Susteren, âbut building infrastructure, building great projects, putting people to work in that sense is also very good, so I think you have a combination of both plus he is doing a rebate system and I think that is good also.â
15. Despite concerns with the cost, liberal Donald Trump really liked Obamaâs healthcare plan:
VAN SUSTEREN: What is your thought about the health care reform that is being at least proposed, at this point?
TRUMP: Well, I think itâs noble, except I just donât know how a country thatâs in such debt â we are really a debtor nation right now, and I just donât know how a country in this kind of trouble can afford it. Itâs very â I love the idea, but can this country afford it? Will it destroy the country? Will it destroy other people that have been paying into health care for years? I mean, will that destroy other people? Itâs a very, very tough situation. I love it from many standpoints, but can this country afford it? And maybe this isnât the right time."
(By the way, Trump IS and HAS been a fan of Obamaâs ideal healthcare system: single payer)
16. How about Obamaâs longstanding obsession with progressive taxation?
Trump agrees:
âThe one problem I have with the flat tax is that rich people are paying the same as people that are making very little money, and I think there should be a graduation of some kind. Because as you make a certain amount of money, I think you should have to graduate upward.â
What he said about Scalia may disappoint ALOT of us, however we ALL know he is NOT perfect but we also know he says what is on his mind and his honesty is EXACTLY why we are supporting him!!!! NO BS with the man accept his MANY faults or support Rubio and keep listening to the ongoing PC crap we are ALL used to!!!!!
If Ted has a response, now is the time to air it, if not, start thinking.
I’m a diehard Trump supporter. Still profoundly disappointed in his Scalia comment, though. As you say, there’s no perfect candidate.
If pandering to blacks was his motivation, he’s not quite so canny as one would hope. As you said, he’ll get zero payoff in that demography, while disappointing the majority of his supporters.
I love Rush. I think he’s an honest man. He likes both Cruz and Trump very much.
He has not gone all wobbly. Sheesh. He expresses 2 criticisms and everyone thinks he’s writing Trump off. Most of here who are supporters of Trump think his comments (particularly towards Scalia) were off-point. Tomorrow Trump will do something on point and hilarious and he’ll praise him. That’s the way Rush works. He’s not dishonest.
You forgot to mention that 2 years ago Trump met with a group of illegal aliens seeking amnesty. Afterwards he said “You’ve convinced me”.
