Donald Trump Goes Nuclear: Let's Face It, Ted Cruz 'Is a Bit of a Maniac'
PJ Media ^ | 12-13-2015 | Michael van der Galien

Posted on 12/13/2015 7:33:18 AM PST by Michael van der Galien

In what's more evidence that Donald Trump is becoming completely unhinged, he is now stooping so low as to label Tea Party favorite Ted Cruz "a bit of a maniac":

"I don’t think he’s qualified to be president… I don’t think he has the right temperament. I don’t think he’s got the right judgment… You look at the way he’s dealt with the Senate, where he goes in there like a — you know, frankly like a little bit of a maniac. You’re never going to get things done that way."

He added:

"Look, I built a phenomenal business. I’m worth many, many billions of dollars. I have some of the greatest assets anywhere in the world. You can’t walk into the Senate, and scream, and call people liars, and not be able to cajole and get along with people. He’ll never get anything done. And that’s the problem with Ted."

It's rather fascinating that this is coming from the most bombastic and maniacal presidential candidate in history. Almost every single one of his proposals are downright outlandish, and he calls everyone who dares disagree with him "a loser" and worse. See how he smeared Dr. Ben Carson by calling him "pathological."

What's more, Trump's latest jabs at Cruz prove that he has no idea what real conservatives want. Cruz promised them to stand up for their values in Washington D.C., even if the establishment would hate him for it. That's exactly what he's done, and it's one of the main reasons that he's now so popular among Evangelicals, very conservative voters, and those who identify themselves with the Party.

If I was Cruz, I'd politely ask The Donald to attack me even more. After all, this will only end up helping, rather than hurting him.

stretching...i almost ripped my arm out of my socket :)

but i do think to an extent it got the republican voters in a rowdy mood.

one of those hard to prove/disprove things.

Giuliani says he saved thousands of black lives during his tenure here and i believe him. but he can’t name one.

You’d be surprised the number of liberals who dont want to give the Great One any credit for the USSR’s fall.

Don’t let the Republican Establishment trolls bait us into a fight between Trump and Cruz supporters on this forum.

That is ok. Only 11% of Iowans in the poll said Trump had presidential temperament. He is really gonna gain votes with his continued personal trashing instead of sticking to facts.

Oh come on. Did you see the interview? It was a gentle jab. Pay attention to context, or don’t comment.

Oh can't happen here. Things get magnified by 10 factors.

Iowans also deliver their state to the Democrats over and over again.

Perhaps he sees a difference between venues for scorched earth tactics - both use them but Trump hasn't been in the same arena as Cruz.

No change in my choices - Cruz first and Trump second.

“Cruz is the smartest man we have. He has had a few lapses but for the most part he is solid with a proven track record. Paying his salary is worth the taxes.”

If Cruz is the smartest man we have, we are in deep doo doo. He LIES...he lied about his vote for TPA, amnesty, h1bvisas & deportation!
Either he is complicit in the Senates scam against Trump supporters or he is ignorant. If Ted had any integrity, he’d call for an end to it! Club for Growth, etc. OWN Cruz. NO ONE owns Donald Trump.

Many lobbyists along with the NRCC (headed by Greg Walden) & NRSC, filled with candidates like Cruz, Paul, Graham, Rubio are LYING to Trump supporters in emails selling them bogus Trump gear which finances THEIR Rino candidates. When will just ONE of these Senators expose their scam against Trump? They have taken millions of $ from candidates...do not be fooled.

Campaigning is one thing, but ...

Why would Trump destroy someone who could be a big help to everything we hope Trump believes him?

Big mistake by Trump.

It is just my impression, that most people would vote for Cruz before Trump, that Trump’s support came from Cruz’s poor ratings.

If Cruz is such a sell-out, why didn’t Trump say that? Why did he instead question Cruz’s sanity?

People on this forum sound like my brother who thinks the guy who is the best debater should be president.

Cruz is a good man. He is Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, but Trump is right, he won’t get anything done as president, he has too many people in his own party who hate him.

Trump probably does too, but he appeals to a broad base of voters.

I honestly think Cruz might lose to Hillary. Trump won’t. NO way, no how he can lose to her.

Why not. Trump in his own words has adopted the Number One stance of the Establishment, don’t shut down the government for whatever reason. There is no other way to spin his “Cruz acts like a maniac in the Senate”. The “Establishment” is letting out a sigh of relief today, of the “he is the one us” variety.

Sounds like something McConnell, Obama, the RINOS, the GOPe, the left, the Democrats, John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Big Media would say.

I think it’s funny the same people saying he does what he wants and is not beholden because of his wealth also say in order to do business he had to pay people off.

I guess beholden means different things at different times depending on who one wants to support.

It was sourced. Audio given to NYT. I listened to it twice. Cruz never called Trump a maniac, loser, jerk because has self control, class and is truly Christian.
One of the supporters brought up his fear about who Trump would appointment to the SCOTUS which I really fear.
Don’t forget only 11% of DMR poll said Trump had temperament to be prez.

"The odd thing is Trump doesn’t mention A SINGLE POLICY while saying things about Cruz. So, this is where we are at now?"

You have to know policy in order to discuss policy. But people play to their strengths. Trump has spent his life arguing with belittling ad hominem attacks. It's how he turned many, many millions from his dad into many, many billions, which is the foundation of his whole campaign.

I'm very much looking forward to the "dwarfs" dropping out, so we can see a substantive Cruz/Trump debate (can we just promise them ambassadorships and TV contracts now and get rid of them?). The man who knows his facts and understands the Constitution would win the debate, easily. And that's not Donald Trump.
