BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -
A woman working the overnight shift at a Biloxi Waffle House was shot and killed early Friday morning, and police say it was all over a cigarette.
Investigators say an argument erupted when a waitress told a customer he couldn't smoke inside the restaurant. Johnny Mount, 45, refused to put out his cigarette, pulled out a handgun he had concealed under his shirt, and shot the woman once in the head.
Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove said the 52-year-old woman was taken to Merit Health Biloxi where she later died from her injuries.
Mount was arrested as he was leaving the restaurant, and charged with 1st degree murder. He's now being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $2 million bond.

White people get “offended” too! My point was, EVERYBODY is touchy all the time and on edge. Look at somebody cross eyed and they’ll kill you. That’s why they are telling drivers to not look at other drivers. The whole damn country is like a pressure cooker.

If there was a shred of justice in this country he would be turned over to her relatives for disposal.

He’ll go on some nice version of death row, get his hormones - because you know he’s a woman trapped in a man’s body - while also getting his exercise and porno magazines and college education in criminal rights law as well as his Koran if he’s happened to convert between hormone treatments. Meanwhile, a hard-working woman is dead, dead, dead. I’m really pissed off.
I agree. We can blame many politicians for their soft of crime take. But this guy did it all by himself.
Mississippi has terminated 21 murderers since 1976 and none in the last three years.
Texas is up to 531 and 13 this year.
Plus, they’ll let him have smoking privileges.

Yes. Maybe Waffle House might want to forget about those rules. Not that I’m being flippant - quite the opposite. I feel horrible for that obviously hard-working lady who died upholding her company’s policy. I hope she’s home with God at this very moment but her family?!
