Am I the only one who is really put off by the pardoning of the turkey and really, really wants a President who would kill, dress and eat the stupid bird?

“Is this a vanity thread?”
All I read was ‘turkey’ and “president” and I thought it was about Odumbo.

I’ve always thought the country took a dive when it stopped being “this one will be served tomorrow”. You aren’t alone.

I’m still trying to figure out what all these turkeys did that they would need a pardon.

I could see a President Trump leading a Hunting Party for the Turkey.
A Chief of Staff Palin would pluck and dress it.
An Atty General Ted Cruz and family would stuff and cook it.
A (Still) Governor Christie would load the Boxed Bird in his truck to deliver at a Charity Banquet. First Red Light, he pulls a wing off, ‘just for a quick sample’.
Ten Mile drive later, Gov. Christie pulls up in front of ‘Mike Meats’ to purchase a ‘replacement Turkey’ because the other one ‘fell out of the box and onto the freeway!”

Good thing you weren't around when President Lincoln was President.
Which president started the tradition of pardoning the Thanksgiving turkey?
The tradition of "pardoning" White House turkeys has been traced to President Abraham Lincoln's 1863 clemency to a turkey recorded in an 1865 dispatch by White House reporter Noah Brooks, who noted, "a live turkey had been brought home for the Christmas dinner, but [Lincoln's son Tad] interceded in behalf of its life. . . . [Tad's] plea was admitted and the turkey's life spared."

((President == turkey) eats turky) => cannibalism.

Started in the 1940s, I think. George H.W. Bush started the tradition of doing it every year.

Your suggestion would of course be blocked by the Secret Service. In a struggle between the two turkeys — referring of course to the bird and Obama — our Dear Leader would have too great a chance of losing or suffering injury.
