One .500 Smith & Wesson Magnum. One Underwood Ammunition bullet loaded with a 350-grain Xtreme Penetrator bullet moving at roughly 1,850 feet per second. Five frozen turkeys.
Sounds like fun!

We NYC city folk like tall beautiful buildings and sleazy bars and women to appreciate by the thousands :) At least I do (did).

It is 18F and snowing right now. Got the wood burning stove fired up so it is toasty inside.

I need to know something. - I have the old Smith & Wesson
that belonged to my great-great grandfather when he
worked as a lightkeeper on the Tennessee River. - It still
works like a charm and is LOUD. That’s OK. - Anyway, what I
am aaking & can’t get an answer. - We always keep a big
container of bacon grease. - Will it hurt to dip the
bullets in the grease before I load the gun? - It won’t gum
up the works, will it?

Why carry a .500? Because you’re worried your 460 is too puny for hunting elephant.

Bacon is cured with salt. I wouldn’t introduce salt into the cylinders where it can corrode the steel.

Well, didn’t Obama want us to talk about Gun Control over Thanksgiving? Good control of a large caliber handgun.

Nope. Jeff Chandler & the other guy say it’s a bad idea
because bacon is cured with SALT which corrodes metal.
