If Trump is elected president do you think he will pardon the Thanksgiving Turkey. It has a recent practice among presidents to pardon a for Thanksgiving. But even as I child I was sure they still ate Thanksgiving day.
Would Putin hold such a tradition if Russia had one.
Do you think Trump would hold on to this tradition? It is said to date back to Truman but was really tradition till about Kennedy. Anyone have a better history?
After listening to his “gobble, gobble” this morning, bo himself is the biggest Thanksgiving Turkey.
Pardon???
Pardon me, I said cut off his head. Well, he IS a turkey.
He would send all of the millions of turkeys back to Turkey and only let the “good ones” back in. Just don’t call it a turkey “amnesty” program.
Jobs that stink: turkeys number 3 and 4 who get promoted to entree and leftovers after turkeys 1 and 2 get pardoned.
Reasons never to eat commercially raised turkey. A feast of chemicals. These turkeys cannot even reproduce on their own.
This article deserves a dumber than dumb rating. It’s silly, sophmorish, and smacks of the kind of ridiculous questions the liberal media would ask.
SO FUNNY!!! HAHAHHA!!!
It’s a stupid pointless tradition that should stop.
“Itâs a stupid ânewâ tradition that needs to be ended.”
I agree. Stupid and needs to end.
You are always welcome to proofread my posts and inform me
of my mistakes. You are right, lets not loose the language.
Interesting article, though the ‘sad’ part is only in regards to Obama’s turkeys; the turkeys who were pardoned 2005-2009 went to either Disneyland or Disney World, one of whom from 2009 is still alive (which admittedly is quite the accomplishment.) My niece used to be in charge of the pardoned turkey and the alternate.
In 1985, I saw the pair which were pardoned in 1984 at the national zoo on a trip to the Boy Scout National Jamboree - they had a nice little plaque describing how one was pardoned by Reagan and the other was the designated alternate. So while 1987 might have been the first time mentioned by a president about pardoning, that was how the process was described at least back in 1985.
I’ll have to see if I can dig out the old slide with the plaque on it, as I’m pretty sure the birds were named as well, but don’t recall what those names were.
The photo at the top is Reagan with one of the two turkeys I saw: http://dailysignal.com/2014/11/26/president-started-turkey-pardon-tradition/
Trump would kill the Turkey—have a big dinner and invite orphan children to the White House to eat.
[...lets not loose the language]
You’re right, loose language is not looked on fondly.
I hope not. It’s ridiculous.
My grandfather gave a chicken demo on his farm.....great fun when you’re 10....ah...dinner!!
all the kids would play with the turkey tied to a rope in the backyard for about week, then be horrified when grandpapa chopped its head off.
Mr Trump would fire the turkey, toss an orange jumpsuit across the room and proceed to sit at that large, historic desk to take his rightful chair as President. And, having more manners than the turkey, he would never attempt to prop his feet on that beautiful wood.
GO TRUMP! GO CRUZ! ~ YOU WIN OR WE LOSE~~
Since Reagan did it, I think it should stay. It is a neat little tradition. Why is everything bashed today. Between the liberals and conservatives, nothing is sacred.
He’ll roast the shit out of it!
If I were President, I’d pardon the turkey after its roasted flesh was carved and served to my family and friends. I’d even hand slices to the assembled media just so I could laugh at the horrified look on their faces.
Only one way to find out.
