My Thanksgiving Dessert Will Definitely Be Better Than Yours
Self | November 23, 2015 | PJ-Comix

I'm not bragging, because it isn't my recipe. In fact, I have no doubt that many of you out there will have Thanksgiving turkeys equally as good or better than what I will cook. However, my sister-in-law most definitely makes the BEST dessert for Thanksgiving.

Only THREE people in the world know the recipe: Her mother, my sister-in-law, and my niece, her daughter, Genesis the Mermaid. It is soooooo good that I have begged my sister-law-to enter the Pillsbury baking contest. The reason why she would probably win is that her dessert is incredible in terms of taste, texture, and novelty.

I plan to make a video of her dessert on Thanksgiving Day and will post it here. So enjoy your Thanksgiving Day dinners but keep in mind, no matter how good they will be, our dessert will be BETTER than yours.

p.s. I won't be posting the recipe since they hold it tight as a family secret.

But Canada is just part of the northern US. The further north you go, the more socialistic the US becomes and then it just basically turns into Canada.

You do realize if she enters it into the contest, they will want to publish the recipe?

Yeah. My wife’s family are from Slovakia. I get to eat some amazing pastries. Some are Austrian, some Hungarian, some Slavic and some are just from a small region in Slovakia. I’ve had sweets as good as, but not better.

Most of these modern concoctions are sugar, corn syrup and candied flavoring plopped in a pan coated with biscuit dough from a can.

For someone to say, “I know everything everyone on FR has ever eaten, I’ve tasted it and this is better,” while not impossible, is extraordinarily unlikely. As in “the Earth is more likely to be consumed on Tuesday by giant space termites” unlikely.

Last weekend we made everything from a Guatemalan Wedding cake to a Hummingbird cake....and of course a lot of the basics in between....Red Velvet, White, Chocolate, Carrot etc.... Not to mention all the cookies, pastries, pies and cheesecakes....All our cakes are made from scratch using fresh eggs, butter etc. No corn syrup! :^) We make cakes the way your Mom wished she could bake....

Through in a couple weddings and we had a busy time...

But there is probably NOT a single dessert we haven’t made in over 30 years....

I know some folks actually say they like pumpkin pie. I took one bite of a reportedly very good pumpkin pie and found it less than ‘awesome’.

I amazed this time of year at things like pumpkin coffee and pumpkin beer. There should be a law.

Pumpkin coffee is a vile and disgusting substance that I wouldn't even consign to my compost heap. Pumpkin beer ...

Honestly, I tried to like the stuff.

Really.

I tried.

But WTF? That's not beer. I'm not sure what it is, and I'm not going to waste any more of my life trying to find out.

For dessert cooked apples + chocolate make the best. They go well together. Dark chocolate made with a minimum of sweetener such as the dark whole cane juice sugar from Colombia called panela. https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Panela++colombia&FORM=HDRSC2

Pumpkin beer must have a normal alcohol content. I see some are up at 8% I would drink it if given a free case.

We bought one as an afterthought about three years ago, 'cause it was on the "sell by today" markdown table:

Walmart bakery cheesecake sampler (4 flavors).

It was the best - far and away - cheesecake that wifey or I have ever had....so we're regulars now -- gonna grab one tomorrow when we do our final pre-Toikey Day grubshop.

I have heard that/ I will try it some time. I have not made ribs in a long time. As far as chili goes some beans in it is good. I don’t understand why some are so against this. A personal preference I suppose.
