Forbidden Planet is one of my favorite films. I’ll have to dig out the DVD for Thanksgiving!

and then there’s the remake rumors: http://www.scifimoviepage.com/upcoming/previews/forbidden_planet-remake.html

And War of the Worlds, 1953. The special effects in those films are awesome. I think today’s special effects suck for the most part.

Ann Francis was smokin hot before there was smokin hot.

Yes she was. The scene in Forbidden Planet when she is swimming in the pool - that did things to me!

And Reason’s “Creature Walks Among Us” fellow co-star, Greg Palmer, also passed away just a few weeks ago.

I can’t deny I often got Rex and his brother Rhodes mixed up.

Anne Robinson (Sylvia Van Buren) is another hot 50s sci-fi girl.

She is 86 and still appears at sci-fi conventions. I gather she is quite popular among that crowd.

I don’t remember much from War of the Worlds. I know I saw it. But it’s been many years.

“Reason is perhaps best known for his role as stalwart, heroic scientist Dr. Cal Meacham in the science fiction This Island Earth (1955). Reason co-starred as sympathetic scientist Dr. Tom Morgan in the third-and final-installment of Universal International Pictures’ Creature from the Black Lagoon horror film series in The Creature Walks Among Us (1956).[3]”

“Forbidden Planet”

I read the book before the movie came out. ...Yeah, I was a sci-fi freak when I was a little kid and I still like it now that I’m in my 70s.

I watch the movie every time I can find it on a cable channel. It set a standard for the early sci-fi movies of the era and most of them failed; but were still entertaining.

Ann Francis was smokin’ hot before there was smokin’ hot.
************************************
My opinion is that Rita Hayworth was a 10, while Ann Francis was a 7, in comparison.

Folks just see things differently.
