I’ve been expecting his retirement announcement since 2011 when he had the neck surgeries. He has too many ailments and is almost 40. I think he only played so he could set the all-time passing yards record.

Um, he made it to a SUPER BOWL since then. Don't be silly.

Such a shame, for not only a great player, but someone who seems to be a great person.

I wish him the best.

Maybe his season. At his age, perhaps his career.

A plantar tear usually does not need surgery to correct and will recover with rest. Having had the condition in both my feet in the past, I know how painful it is.

Andrew Luck out 2-6 weeks with abdominal injuries
Yahoo Sports ^ | Nov 10, 2015 | Jay Busbee

The Indianapolis Colts, already reeling with injury and performing below expectations, received even more terrible injury news on Tuesday: quarterback Andrew Luck suffered abdominal injury in the team's victory over Denver. Luck is expected to miss two to six weeks.

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano announced the injury on Tuesday afternoon, saying Luck suffered a lacerated kidney and a partially torn abdominal muscle on a fourth-quarter scramble. This is in addition to the report from earlier this season that Luck had been playing with multiple fractured ribs.

Just last week, I dropped his brother (who I called “Erratic Eli”) in my fantasy football league to acquire him. Smart move, eh?

He continues to play so he can prove he is a better quarterback than Favre.

That simple.

That puppy can take a long time to heal. I just pulled mine and it took a year to heal. It’s just too easy to aggravate it over and over.

Love manning. keeps his mouth shut about stuff and keeps quiet compared to a certain idiot QB from Green Bay who couldn’t keep his piehole shut about the fan during the moment of silence. However, I hate the Broncos organization led by a full lefty in Elway.

That may be a part of it, but I think it is just very difficult for most of these guys to walk away. Think Favre on the Jets and Vikings, or Michael Jordan on the Wizards, or Willie Mays on the Mets.

For some reason, I saw this headline as Chelea Manning, and thought this was a required procedure for “trans-ing.”

According to Schefter, Manning had already been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis

I wonder how they were treating that? I had it in both feet in the early 90's. What cured it was firm arch supports for my shoes (Dr. Scholl's won't cut it). Eventually, the pain went away, the heel spurs re-knitted, and I have no pain at all. I still have the two pairs of arch supports and will not buy shoes unless those arch supports fit.

I guess the Broncos should have sat Manning until he healed. I think Joe DiMaggio went through it at some point as well and took a lot of time off.
