One of the most electrifying moments ever in a film.

...when terrorists are capable of such atrocities...
Doesn’t matter what came before or after. Once Hollande said that tonight, the battle was lost.
And every FReeper knows why.

Very nice. The scene always chokes me up. Vive la France !
Every Jan 1, I resolve to memorize “La Marseillaise” by Bastille Day. Every year I fail. With the possible exception of “Dixie,” there is no other tune that will get my heart pumping like the French national anthem. I have about 20% French blood, so I’m allowed to. I also served in Africa alongside some Legionnaire units. The Casablanca clip is extremely gripping.
The Nass were not amused.

Its going to take more than songs to stop ISIS on a rampage. Wait, it will come happen here. My bet, NYC again.
Never hurts to boost morale!

That truly is a great anthem!

“Arise children of the fatherland
The day of glory has arrived
Against us tyranny’s
Bloody standard is raised
Listen to the sound in the fields
The howling of these fearsome soldiers
They are coming into our midst
To cut the throats of your sons and consorts
To arms citizens Form your battalions
March, march
Let impure blood
Water our furrows
What do they want this horde of slaves
Of traitors and conspiratorial kings?
For whom these vile chains
These long-prepared irons?
Frenchmen, for us, ah! What outrage
What methods must be taken?
It is us they dare plan
To return to the old slavery!”
Hollande also said the terrorists would be dealt with “pitilessly” I believe, that’s good.
I was thrilled to find out all the Germans in the film were Jewish people that had fled the NAZI terror.
