Could this movie be made today? Mel Brooks doesn't think so..... Could the kids at our universities watch it without turning into quivering masses of protoplasam?

That scene included one of the greatest movie quotes of all time:

"What in the Wide World of Sports is a-goin' on here? I hired you people to get some track laid, not to jump around like a bunch of Kansas City faggots!"

LMAO.

Two TV classics which would never survive today: "The Honeymooners" and "I Love Lucy."

The Honeymooners: The first time Ralph waves his fist in the air and threatens to send Alice "to the moon", the women's groups would go absolutely nuts.

I Love Lucy: The first time Lucy makes fun of Desi's accent, the left would go crazy, CBS would be forced to apologize, half the show's writers would be fired, and the other half would be required to attend "sensitivity training" (even though Desi Arnaz was the executive producer, and had final say over the scripts.)

Speaking of Eddie Murphy, watch his “Delirious” standup, couldn’t get away with a lot of that stuff today.

Likewise a lot of stuff from “In Living Color” wouldn’t be able to be done today.

Das Boot

Very good war movie. Not funny but from a German perspective

One of the best war movies ever. You could almost smell the inside of the U-boat -- a mixture of sweat, urine, vomit and rotting sausages hanging from the pipework.

It took courage to board one of those steel coffins, much less try to run the Straits of Gibraltar in one.

Well.......maybe.

You would have to have a Dave Chappele starring in it in order to get it made.

But even then the SJWs will still try to get it banned.

If it were made today, Lt. Governor Hedly Lamar and Governor
Lepetomane would be the good guys. They would be progressive lilly whites buying up land so they could put the railroad through it, basically exactly like the 1974 version, except the film would make them good and the conservative townspeople who wanted to use their own land themselves would be the bad guys on the wrong side of history. Kind of like Diane Finstine and the California high speed rail.

“Men on film” could never be made. Neither could Handiman and Homie the clown.
