ROFL! Wow, isn't this great. Our High School rolled out Chrome Books to ALL students last year, complete with electronic copies of all textbooks and online access to all textbook materials, reference materials, etc..
The high school did that because it was cheaper and more effective than issuing textbooks for every class and (shock, surprise!) the kids actually used the Chrome Book's for classwork and homework like they were supposed to.
In the case of my youngest son (now a Junior) his grades actually went UP because all homework was submitted on-line, rather than having to manually turn in every day in person, in class. (Don't get me going on why he always seemed to "lose" his homework.)
Now Chrome Books are going away. Lovely. Glad I also bought him a laptop, no doubt we'll have to "subscribe" to the textbooks next year and pay yet another "fee" to the school for that.....

I’m really happy with Android 4.2 and up and recent hardware - pretty much any phone or tablet with 1 GB RAM or more. 512 MB definitely was not adequate. We like our Chromebooks also, for that matter.

Computer CPUs are going up in quantity and quality and have better and better energy efficiency, all thanks to mobile phones. Thanks Ernest.
