Did you know that Ta-Nehisi Coates has decamped for Paris for a year? Turns out he’s living in the Marais and dining out with a correspondent for the Financial Times. Excerpt:

There’s also a tradition of American writers who come to Paris to escape the

Of course Mr. Coates can't help himself and immediately compares the gun free safe public places in Paris to supposedly public space in the US filled with gun nuts ready to shoot. Perhaps he needs to go to public places in the US with let us say a demographics matching Paris. I hope he never comes back.

The title is incorrect, it reads “Famous”...

Maybe “famous” does not mean what we think it means...

Goodbye racist. Be sure to visit the areas that are in the complete control of the ROP crowd.

I thought Ta-Neshi was a young woman. A full figured woman with a freedom wig type Afro. I may have mixed this name up with one that rhymes. Who I thought was Ta-Neshi may actually be named Na-Teshi.

This guy is writing Black Panther for Marvel Comics. When that was reported here a few days ago, it was the first I’d heard of him.

The only problem is he left fellow d-bag Alec Baldwin behind. And Baldwin promised to de-camp years ago so he just needs to follow Coates’ example on how to do it.

Perhaps he needs to visit the no-go zones in Paris around the 35th Arrondissement. He needs to wear his flame-proof suit, though.

“Ta-Nehisi”

Is this guy’s/gal’s name some kind of take off on the old Nehi soda line? Or is it some American Indian nomenclature I don’t recognize? Or his/her Mom heard the name on a sci-fi fantasy show and thought it sounded neat? What gives with these outer space names?

I’ve been in Paris all week. I’ve been traveling literally all over the city. Including the 35th Arrondissement. The “no go” nonsense is a myth. Haven’t seen one nor heard of one yet. There are Muslims everywhere of course, but I haven’t once felt threatened.

I picked the 35th out of the air. Maybe we need to try the 45th. Something is wrong in France unless all the newspapers are lying. I seem to remember a pretty little Jewish girl being murdered by jihadists about two years ago. And cars being incinerated in no-go areas during the summer. And, oh, yes, newspaper employees being cruelly killed for running a cartoon of muslim’s dear leader.

I speak as someone who loves Paris and would like to spend more time there. I hope to do that within the next two years.

Of course they’re are exceptions. But not “no go” areas. That’s an urban legend. I feel safer in any part of Paris I’ve been in compared to parts of Chicago, I’ll tell you that.

There are only 20 arondissements.

The "no-go areas," if they exist, would be housing projects outside the city limits.

In France, rich people like living in cities, and you're likely to find poor people in the suburbs.

The thing is that Tay-Tay here, despite having been given an African name
(a name for Nubia in ancient Egyptian) is no more African than I am, which is to say, not at all. He was born in Baltimore fer chrissakes! He lives in a pretend world where the poor slaves still suffer under the whips of their white masters.

"The title is incorrect, it reads “Famous"

That is something many of the talking heads and scribblers in New York, Washington, and the Left Coast fail to understand. I would bet better than 90% of Americans have no idea who this clown is. Maybe 95% don't know and wouldn't care if they did.

And as far as being able to write well, so what? Gore Vidal was a better stylist, and I loathed him for his anti-American attitude. Ditto for Coates.
