WWZ was terrible. Just about everything in it was stupid. The final solution was from big government and enclaves of survivalist types were portrayed as useless idiots.

The final solution was to form an army, two rows marching abreast from coast to coast and rooting out every single Zack they encountered.

Or are you talking about the movie (I didn’t see it)?

take a look at long time stoners and you have zombies right there.

True that, and hard core alkies that "wet-brained" themselves.

I think both Mr. French and Jonah Goldberg need to get some real jobs. Zombie apocalypse?

A real job would start and end with street sweeper. Their focus on a possible zombie apocalypse as “real” possible future event clearly show that their minds have been turned into mush by watching too much Hollywood dream products.

As an ex-tanker, one of our running cadences went like this:

Crunch, crunch, crunch, is the sound
Got grunts in my sprockets going round and round.

The toughest thing about a zombie appocalypse would be cleaning out the treads with a high pressure hose.

Well, I dunno. The city boys in the discussion seem to think there might be an ammo shortage but I don’t see it. If about 90% turn that’s 300 million zombies in the U.S. - Canadian zombies would be far too polite to invade and the Mexican ones already have - I figure I have enough ammo in the basement to cover it but if things get tight we could always fight our way up to the garage. The great thing about zombies is that they’re like turkeys - if you wait long enough they’ll come to you. Could run out of beer for the blind, though. Better check on that.

No I was talking about the book. Did not see the movie. The line abreast coast to coast thing was the stupidest garbage I think I have ever read. Clearly someone who never has been outside a major city or any where near the West. How does the line abreast cross major swaps? Mountain ranges? deep canyons? Major rivers with all their surrounding wetlands? The writer clearly had no clue how big and rough this country really is.
A bounty paid to private hit squads would have made more sense.

There are no zombies, there will be no zombies. I hear Millenials speak of this an objective fact in the future.

Many Millennials are themselves proof that zombies are real.

Because it’s where a lot of interesting concepts merge. You’ve got the disease vector thing, collapse of society, the rise of an enemy we’re not trained against and don’t understand. Thought experiments are useful.

Even tanks couldn’t stop the zombie scenario in “28 Days Later”. Or the “Dawn of the Dead” remake.

Easy-peasy. They can't get inside. So, make some noise and they come running to you. The only time tankers would be vunerable is when you have to refuel. Lure em all out to some big open parking lots and do laps. You could probably "process" tens of thousands an hour. A motivated tank battalion could clean up a population the size of Chicago in two days or so. Might need a couple of bulldozers with closed cabs to clean up the slop and gore. Mankind has been doing these kind of hunts for thousands of years - see Buffalo jump

The solution in the book to those areas was to call them in and shoot them from a well equipped and supplied defensive square.

Miz Coppertop is an RN. Has been for 28 years. Loves the 'Dead and we have a grande time bumpin around the "what if's" of such stuff.
In one of our conversations she said that if rabies ever went airborne it could have similar effects to what ya see in the zombie genre. I kinda wonder if there's anything at all to that sometimes.
Just a little mutation and here we go. d;^)

Made sense to me. Remember the offensive didn’t start for something like two or three years after the country was overrun so the situation was fairly static. With their newly developed techniques, the mobile zombie hoards were taken down. Along the way they broke into squads and eliminated them house to house. The book clearly illustrated that two people clear out a house, one stays on overwatch.

I’m sure hard to reach pockets were bypassed and marked for later cleanup. And the book said they constantly had problems with thawing zombies and the ones who washed ashore.

Nature eliminates a zombie inside of 2 weeks. Just bolt up somewhere and wait.

Why?

On all places such as FreeRepublic do we continue to discuss this falderol as if it were REAL and an object possibility?

There are no zombies, there will be no zombies. I hear Millenials speak of this an objective fact in the future.
