Team Romney Joins the Fight Against Voter Support for Trump
Gateway Pundit ^ | 09/13/2015 | Jim Hoft

2012, many conservatives held their nose and reluctantly voted for the grandfather of Obamacare in an attempt to take their country back from a lawless President.

A tepid Team Romney refused to bring full force to bear against Obama, and the country has suffered tremendously for it. Earlier this year, the idea of Romney running again was briefly floated only to be resoundingly shot down by conservatives. Enter the rise of Trump – everything Romney is not: strong, authentic, unapologetic and artful at marketing. Now, we get word that Team Romney has joined the forces behind the Trump take-down attempt.

This does seem incredibly disloyal, given that Trump endorsed Romney in 2012, hosted fundraisers for him and donated millions to his PAC.

“We are united,” said one former Romney aide who did not wish to be identified, according to the Boston Globe.

“It’s a common goal, and not just for Romney people, but for anyone invested in Republicanism, conservatism, and anyone who gives a flying [expletive] about what we’re trying to do here. Even if you’re not getting paid, this isn’t good for anybody,” he said.

“Well, I’m disappointed in Mitt Romney,” Trump replied. “He is the one that’s leading it, and he was a failure,” Trump replied. “This is pure Romney trying to get back in” to politics.

He called Romney’s 2012 presidential run “a disaster,” adding that “Obama won an election that should have been run by the Republicans.”

For them it is power over the people, not service of the people.

It is amazing how much fight these republican insiders have, when they are attempting to control the integrity of their party, yet so little in defense of the integrity of our country.

If Republicans were willing to fight as hard for who gets into the country as they are for who gets into their party, they would be much more appreciated.

The GOPe has more money than brains.

If this cycle has illustrated anything, it has shown just how infiltrated the establishment is with corrupt liberals who don’t like paying taxes.

With respect to the duplicity of the GOPe, Trump would be well advised to heed the words of Cicero:

“An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly.”

Don’t underestimate the power of the GOPe to undermine a candidate it does not like.

Which leads to one of my few criticisms of the Founders—They did not include a provision for term-limits in the Constitution as they could not envision the rise of a more-or-less permanent political class.

Big Money is using the eGOP to keep America weak and disliked around the world. They do not want an America we grew up in. They want it like the European countries, that way THEY can rule the world.
Now they’re using the democrats and their followers to bring in immigrants from the Mid East countries, we have enough of those people here, they’re eating up our welfare programs.

That is because there is little actual difference between the GOP-elites and the DEM-elites. They are part of the same exclusive club, and they don't want any outsiders messing up their good thing.

Sometimes the Dems win and get a bigger share of the Treasury and power. Then, the Pubbies win and get a bigger share of the Treasury and power. They take turns, but come the end of the business day, they join together for drinks and laughs at how they spend another day hoodwinking the general citizenry.

Trump is preemptively shooting out Romney’s tires before he can even get rolling.

Trump is gonna get tons of Democrat votes that despise illegal immigration, the anchor baby scam and our ruinous free trade policies///// Many of them will be voting Trump in Republican primaries where they are allowed to. We all know how John McCain reaped so many Democrat votes in *crossovers allowed* Republican primaries.

Trump will do what McCain did but get five times as many.

“Well, if there’s anyone who knows how to turn off voters, it’s Mitt Romney.”

Romney cleaned Zero’s clock in the first debate. He went lame after that. The fix was in. Romney wasn’t supposed to win.

What they are trying to do is hold onto GOPe power. It has nothing to do with conservatism.

I was yelling at Romney at the third debate, just saying nothing and letting Obama get away with everything.

Starting at 13:00... when they shoot at it, it gets BIGGER!

(A metaphor for Trump. I know, it’s labeled “evil”. But to the GOPe, Trump is “evil”. hahahahaha)

I would love to see on the state level 8 year term limits in house and senate for a total of 16 years at the state capital and on the federal level the same. think about it for a real good politician that is 32 years in politics and if any of them want to be governor or president that’s 40 years. the fact that they are limited on how long they can stay in the same seat would get rid of a lot of idiots and make it so we still would have some seasoned people in some seats

That's because Trump has become more than just a candidate. He is a touchstone by which the fed up millions can quickly discern who the statist/elistist wannabe overlords are. Other pols quickly sort themselves in the voters' eyes by their reactions to Trump.

Zactly. Turns out the populace is a mite smarter than the GOPE gives them credit for.
