The video doesn’t quite fit the plan provided in your post. Perhaps some enterprising members of the band decided the formation would be better if it represented a Wildcat Willie.
(The local rock station has a spot about covering K-State sports that proclaims “We’ve got your Willie covered. [long pause] Willie Wildcat! you pervert!”)
