And liberal/Democrat/pro-gay judges rule according to their ideology and work out the legal justifications later. Its all a farce.

They’re going to have to tread lightly.

They KNOW they’ve imposed an abomination against the will of the people,
and would see some backlash since they can be held accountable and the judges cannot.

I have no problem seeing it from that perspective.

However what’s going on here is MUCH more complex than the simple refusal of a governmental official to fulfill a task assigned to her.

For instance, my understanding is that a marriage license issued anywhere in KY is valid anywhere in KY (do I have that right?). These folks are deliberately targeting her because they know she’ll refuse. They can go to the next County over and get a license, today, if the so chose to.

So it’s easy to conclude that it’s not enough for them to get married, they ALSO want making a Christian violate her beliefs and conscience to be part of their sacred union.

Now thats extraneous to the legal issues here involving performance of her official duties. But it certainly should be part of the discussion about what’s, in the larger sense, really going on.

I watched a clip of the perverts swarming this woman’s workplace and harrassing her last night. Prayers up for her safety.

KY is one of the last Red states where Democrats can win so long as they present themselves as Conservatives. Thats how this County Clerk, who is a Democrat, won the office she now occupies.

This issue scares the hell out of KY Democrats. And it’s the reason why national Democrats aren’t applying any sort of pressure on KY Democrat officeholders to take some sort of action, even symbolic action, against her.

Just also remember who you’re picking to represent “conservatives”. She’s been married 4 times and had children out of wedlock.

Yes, they were wacko.

The men trying to beat down the door of Genesis 19 came to mind.

All before she was born again and became Evangelical.

I’m not evangelical. Not even particularly religious, but I can see where going through that sort of religious awakening changes ones outlook and behavior in a way that makes many things that happened before that awakening irrelevant.

The Left is trotting out the hypocracy card. It’s a bullying tactic that has no particular relevance here.

The clerk is wrong. That was the whole point of "rendering unto Caesar". We walk simultaneously in the world of man and the world of God. What we need to do in walk in the world of man is not counted against us, within reason.

And will your support for same sex marriages be the same when Caesar demand you sign a loyalty oath in support of queer marriage or lose you private sector job?

"Obey the Law or Resign". Is that it? Is that what you'd have the clerk do? You'd have made a fine Nazi. After all - they too were only following the law as they sent millions of Jews to their deaths.

Be careful with that attitude. A FReeper just got the zot for simply posting this.

Yes, FR in recent years has become quite the bed of hypocrisy. Just look at all the Cruz and Trump supporters.

Wouldn’t a Federal Judgista have to be impeached by the US Congress? If so, don’t hold your breath waiting.

She won’t go to jail...She will get fined.

She could conceivably get both. It depends on how hard-assed the judge wants to be. She will have a hard decision to make tomorrow, and while it's easy for us to say she should dig in her heels and stand her ground we're not the ones facing jail or financial penalty. So whatever her decision is tomorrow I'm not going to second guess her on it.

Excellent point. They could go to the next county over instead of targeting this one woman.

The whole "rendering unto Caesar" is misunderstood. Tell me: what is not God's? Money? God says:

"The gold and the silver are mine" - Haggai 2:8.

In the final analysis, nothing is Caesar's. Everything is God's. He holds the deed to the Universe. When Caesar tries to force us to his will instead of God's, God himself tells us to refuse.

"We must obey God rather than men" - Acts 5:29.

Perhaps you think this woman should leave her job because of her Christian convictions. Would you like every believing Christian to walk away from every government job that forces them to compromise their faith? I don't think you would like our nation with a government of only non-believers.

Better she should stand and fight. I support her 100%. She is standing up for God.

Perhaps you think this woman should leave her job because of her Christian convictions.[sic]

I believe that would be the will of Jesus.
