Disturbing Video Shows Cop Whipping, Kicking His Own K-9 During a Raid
The Free Thought Project ^

Peoria, AZ — When a Peoria resident pulled out her cellphone to record police raiding a neighbor’s home, she never expected to what would happen next.

The woman filming, who wishes to remain anonymous out of fear of police retaliating against her, said she pulled out her phone after she heard police say, “I know you’re in there, come out with your hands up.”

What she saw next was animal abuse.

The K-9 handler lets the dog run to the door and then, for an unknown reason, walks up and whips the dog with his leash. As if the leash strike wasn’t enough unwarranted punishment, the officer then kicked his K-9 partner.

Onlookers reacted in awe after witnessing such cruelty.

“It didn’t seem right to me I have never heard of an officer stomping on a dog or whipping it with a leash,” said the woman. “The dog looks like a puppy and looks terrified of him. I think the officer needs to be disciplined or spoken to at least.”

Although it appeared that the dog was not seriously injured, the woman reported the incident to the local news. The Peoria police department says they are now looking into the incident.

This incident is hardly isolated. Cops being caught on camera beating and abusing their K-9 partners happens fairly often.

In June, a sheriff’s deputy was caught on a hotel surveillance system sadistically beating his own dog.

Last year we reported on a Hammond police officer who was also caught on camera violently abusing his K-9 partner.*

Correction: This report originally stated that the incident happened in Peoria, IL. It has been updated to reflect that it was Peoria, AZ. The Free Thought Project apologizes for the oversight.

If a man is cruel to his own dog, he has no business complaining that ordinary folks don’t trust him with their safety.

That went from kicking to stomping in less than a paragraph.

I wonder what else isn’t right?

And the person recording the incident will no doubt be arrested for somehow interferring with a cop abusing his K9 partner; a cop shoots a homeowners dog, meh, a homeowner shoots a K9 and it’s 40 years in jail.

Maybe they didn't. Too much temptation to always shoot the dog.

I agree. If the video is the only evidence, I didn’t see the cop stomp the dog. The witness used the word stomp. Did the cop make a mistake with the way he handled the dog? Maybe. His supervisor should decide and live with the decision.

There's a serious problem with goon cops in this country. But, we only hear about it when there's a racial angle. Then, everyone sides with their tribe and it's 1970 again.

I love dogs. I have fostered them. I have wonderful dogs that I would protect with my life.

But these K9s in law enforcement and military are tools. They are not family pets along for the ride. They are expendable tools.
The officers and soldiers love these dogs simply because they are attached to them. But they have conditioned themselves to realize the K9s are tools.

Sick .gov on him.

Federal law protects police 'animals', the Federal Law Enforcement Animal Protection Act of 2000 covers it.

Wait a minute, this was a dangerous situation where the cops are getting ready for entry, all the guns are drawn, yet this cop takes the time to slap around and kick the K9 while standing directly in front of the door of the targeted home?

No bueno. This does not compute.

If my dog doesn’t recognize you as part of the larger pack, she is happy to show her big teeth and give you a vocal warning to have you determined by a pack member to be friend or foe. Most dogs will confront a cop coming on the property no matter the breed.

This is nothing compared to what this guy did:

He sued and got back pay and legal fees. I can't tell if they rehired him.
