I love dogs. I have fostered them. I have wonderful dogs that I would protect with my life.
But these K9s in law enforcement and military are tools. They are not family pets along for the ride. They are expendable tools.
The officers and soldiers love these dogs simply because they are attached to them. But they have conditioned themselves to realize the K9s are tools.

Bet he doesn't abuse his other tools. For instance, what does he do when his gun acts up on the firing range, stomp it into the gravel?
K9's are indeed tools but physical abuse as exhibited in this video are not appropriate in the handling of these animals.............
The k9s are officers of the law... Attack one, and you assault an officer. It should be the same for partners of such.

No, they are not ‘tools’ they part of the force and are considered police officers!
Try telling that to a Marine Corps K-9 handler dipstick.
He might even let his dog eat your carcass after he tears off your pointy little head.
Just as a matter of interest; when I was in, the Handler was out ranked by the Handlee.
Don’t know if it still holds true, but if the handler was a Corporal, the K-9 would be at least a sergeant.
