I’m temporarily switching to sour neon gummy worms.

“I’m not getting it.

He just said last week it was OK for the Trump Ties, clothing to be manufactured in China because the nations policies forced him to.

I’m missing why it different for Nabisco?”

Please don’t try to apply logic to Trump And his supporters.

I agree.

And along with that, America needs to become pro-business again, too.

I don’t know whether I should eat Oreos made in the third world by third worlders or Oreos made in the US by third worlders. Probably neither.

“Straight sugar imported to a bottling plant or a candy factory gets a tariff. Bottled coca-Cola or Hershey’s Candy with sugar does NOT.”

Time to restore tariffs to everything imported. During the 19th Century, when the USA went from a weak former colony to become the strongest industrialized economy on the planet, the country maintained high tariffs on imported goods. Free trade to the founders meant the freedom to trade with any nation on the planet, not open markets. Before the early 20th century, the tariff fully funded the activities of the federal government. There was no personal income tax.

I don’t disagree, as long as we ELIMINATE some of the taxes the tariffs would replace. The selective tariffs brings us the law of unintended consequences.

Maybe the National Biscuit Company should change it’s name to Mexibisco.

Sugar wholesales for less than 50 cents/pound. It's far more likely that cheaper labor led to this decision.

A lot of the candy now comes from Canada, which is pretty close to us in wages. Certainly labor comes into play as a factor for Mexico. Do note that a 2 litre bottle of Soda has about a quarter pound of sugar in it. A difference of 3 or 4 cents per unit on a product that wholesales for under a dollar can be huge.

"Who makes those? American bakers?"

I would not be surprised to find out they are made in the same factory as The real thing and just put in different packages. You would be amazed at how many products are sold that way. Canned veggies and such especially.

Someone will soon come along to say that Trump once flew in a French-made jet, or something like that.

He does have a sweet "tooth" for non-American wives, though.

Was this seriously put out by Oreos?

I will never purchase them again.

You have successfully cured me of Oreo's being my kryptonite.

Well done!

I think sugar is better for health than high fructose corn syrup.

Exactly. And when I’m in the mood for Oreo’s, I buy the store brand. Admittedly I was unaware they(Oreo’s)are now being made overseas. I was not eating Oreo’s, or any other Nabisco products for that matter, because of that ridiculous commercial Nabisco made pushing the queer agenda.

One reason why HFCS is used in so many places where sugar used to be used is those same tariffs. It is not a coincidence that Mexican Coke is made with sugar and NOT HFCS.

I don't just blame the sugar interests in Louisiana and Hawaii, but also the MUCH larger corn lobby that indirectly benefits from the sugar tariffs.

When y'all find a little cucaracha nestled inside your Oreo de Mejico, don't complain to me, LOL.

For a plain, non-chocolate cookie to eat with your glass of milky at night, try Keebler's Toffee Sandys. Oh, man...I can't stop eatin' 'em. Keep in tight glass cookie jar.
