Speaking to a crowd of more than 20,000 in Mobile, Alabama, Donald Trump had a confession to make: he may never eat Oreos again.

Trump, during his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, has been outspoken about his displeasure of American companies moving overseas to China and Mexico, and his sentiments were expressed in full once again during his campaign stop in Alabama Friday night.

“You know, Mexico is the new China,” Trump told the crowd, referencing the recent decision by Nabisco to move its factories there.

This is getting ridiculous.

America needs to back American businesses once again.

In America.

Just dammit. Oreo's are my kryptonite (along with pizza and cheeto's) .... I didn't know they weren't made here anymore.

Well, I guess as soon as the flat of Oreo's I have is gone then there'll be no more in my house.

But then I’m in. :D

Sugar subsidy. Our sugar costs double the rest of the world. Time to ax the subsidy

A LOT of this has to do with sugar tariffs. A lot of our candy has already moved to Canada and Mexico. Most of the real sugar Coca-Cola comes from Mexico. Straight sugar imported to a bottling plant or a candy factory gets a tariff. Bottled coca-Cola or Hershey’s Candy with sugar does NOT.

If Oreos are outlawed, only outlaws will eat Oreos.

Just wait. Someone will soon come along to say that Trump once flew in a French-made jet, or something like that.

Oreo itself is an imitator of Sunshine Hydrox (now barely existing and owned by Keebler last I heard).

Store versions of Oreos are not as good.

Is it just Oreos that are made there ... or all of Nabisco?

It must be something like that, it’s not like there’s any direct labor savings to be had, and they’ve got to be picking up enough savings to offset the increased shipping cost to US markets.

Do they still sell Hydrox? I always thought they were better than Oreos.

A chocolate cookie will not do it for me anymore. I have to mainline it with Trader Joes 72% cacao.

They were just on sale here this week. 4 boxes for $10.

So, I will swear off them in a couple of weeks.

I eat Mallomars, THE BEST COOKIE EVER MADE, and they are made in Canada by Nabisco. They are a seasonal Brand, only available between October and April and they are really expensive. One of my few guilty pleasures.

My desire for Oreos has been steadily declining since I started Chemotherapy some years back. Before that, I was Choclaholic.

Mallomars used to be made in New York or the Tri State area, but they moved Production to Canada a while ago. I don’t remember hearing that it was because of the Sugar Tariff.

I also drive a 2015 Dodge Challenger that is made in Canada just like the Chevy Camaro. Before you know it, I’ll be watching Hockey, not...
