“No, that is not disproof when abnormalities are being cited as proof of the norm. An unhealthy brain in a human does not turn said brain into an animal brain operating on instinct.”
I think you are missing the point. A mentally retarded person is identical physically to us, for all relevant purposes regarding this question. Yet, they are not successful predators. So what is missing from them, other than a functioning brain, that removes all their advantages?
If you can’t answer that with some other reasonable alternative, then this example disproves your thesis.
Humans are superior to animals. That’s what we’ve been saying!
What do you have against southpaws?
Not against a 338 Lapua they ain’t.
They still catch the adult (which was my point), and do not distinguish between male and female fish. And the bears typically do eat the whole fish when they are not as abundantwhen the bears can afford to just eat the brains, skin and eggs (the fattest parts), there are plenty of other scavengers nearby to clean up the rest.
“If their mental retardation is due to a neurological defect, then they are not entirely identical physically...”
I did qualify that by limiting it to what is relevant to the question. They generally don’t have some limiting physical impediment that would prevent them from performing any of the physical tasks associated with being a predator. So for the purposes of this question, they are physically identical to any other human. Therefore, if they can’t still can’t perform the task, then what is missing?
You didn’t give an answer to that question, and you can’t save your argument without answering it. All the rest of the stuff you are talking about, comprehending language, etc, is just fluff. Tell us what they are missing, besides a fully functioning brain, that prevents them from being apex predators?
We also produce a lot of our food. The global cattle population amounted to about 1.39 billion animals in 2005. Chicken population, 2010* World:19.5 billion. That would mean a daily egg production of about 19 billion. World Hog Population, 2002 939,318,700. Then there’s the tons of corn and grains farmers grow. I think we’re doing just fine.
Since “big fish eat little fish”, doesn’t this save the lives of gazillions of little fish?

Same is true regarding why hunting regs. exist. Does and fawns are not legal and there’s a limit each season on bucks. That permits the deer to continue to procreate. ....Limits on ducks, dove, geese, etc. ....Conservation of species and food sources for humans.
Very good and accurate #29 posting!
