E-cigarettes are 95 percent less harmful than tobacco: UK study

Electronic cigarettes are around 95 percent less harmful than tobacco and should be promoted as a tool to help smokers quit, a study by an agency of Britain's Department of Health said on Wednesday.

E-cigarettes, tobacco-free devices people use to inhale nicotine-laced vapor, have surged in popularity on both sides of the Atlantic but health organizations have so far been wary of advocating them as a safer alternative to tobacco and governments from California to India have tried to introduce bills to regulate their use more strictly.

"E-cigarettes are not completely risk free but when compared to smoking, evidence shows they carry just a fraction of the harm," said Professor Kevin Fenton from Public Health England, which carried out the study.

As long as you are not dissolving nicotine into the liquid, users can dissolve drugs like methamphetamine, powdered cocaine, and synthetic drugs like bath salts. I see a lot of people sitting around sharing e cigarettes. I’m pretty sure they aren’t using nicotine in there.

Yes the cartridges can be bought with smaller amounts, all the way down to no nicotine.

Do-gooders just plain hate smokers (except pot smokers).

Expand on this if you can, or will.....or just admit you've got a bit of agenda-thing goin' on.

Visit your friendly neighborhood vape shop and they’ll set you up. There are hundreds of flavors and all different nicotine strengths, down to none at all.

People “sitting around” are probably not using meth or bath salts. Why would you expect that they are not just vaping nicotine?

People with cigarettes can also put all kinds of drugs in them, but you can usually tell by their behavior and appearance whether they are using stuff like meth.

No. I don’t have an agenda. You simply need to watch these people. They are not talented, skilled, smart, cunning. Watch them long enough and they will reveal what they are up to. I frequently see questionable people, and don’t give me the nonsense of not judging a book by its cover, sitting outside a grocery store or a fast food place or a gas station sharing these e cigarettes. It is obvious by their behavior, their demeanor, the location they engage in such activity that there is something other than nicotine or a nicotine replacement in the device. This is common knowledge. I was told you can get advice from the right e cigarette sales people on what else you can use in these devices.

This does not mean I think they should be banned; I sort of like idiots and criminals clearly labeled. Nor does this mean every person using the device is a miscreant, but if you are shabbily dressed, covered in tattoos to include your face, are watching everyone for an opportunity for mischief, and wish to be scarce when law enforcement drives by I think it is safe to assume you are up to no good.

Furthermore, watch the alleged homeless panhandling on street corners. I used to joke that they were in a union as they seemed to work hours. However, one day I was stuck waiting for someone and I watched as people stopped and gave them money. Eventually they were approached and a large roll of money is exchanged for a bag. He panhandles a little more and leaves. An hour later, a different homeless person with sign appears. Same thing after about 15 minutes. I have seen it time and time again. Many of the hourly homeless types panhandling on street corners or in traffic are bag men or out right dealers.

It is probably possible to mix your own e-juice with caffeine in it. You can buy the ingredients already.

You’d have to be careful, though. If you got too much caffeine, I imagine that would be unpleasant.

Yeah. Prolly a poor description. My grandpa smoked a pipe and my grandma nagged him constantly. One day he told he had quit over a year ago, yet she still nagged.

Two Peas in a Pod makes a “Coffee High” flavored vape juice.

Not sure if it has any caffeine in it, I get my dose from real down to Earth Java!
