There's a show on the SyFy channel called "Dark Matter," a "space opera" about a ship's crew that's lost their personal memories. Anyway, after the crew brings supplies back on board, and while eating some "vegetable crisps," one of the crew members says, "there's something about the green ones... I don't know, they're just kind of creepy." or something along those lines.

LOL...That maybe the answer.
There is a saying between me and my brothers. In the ‘60s Jack In the Box bought several very large warehouses and filled them with cheap tacos. They have all remained the same all these years. If they change I’ll have a fit. :)

That’s so funny.
Wife and I used to go to Mexico anytime we got to the border (years ago before the cartels turned it into the killing fields) and there was an open air cantina a couple of blocks in, Ice cold cervesa, and cheap cuban cigars. One night I mentioned that I was hungry and our waitress suggested a Taco stand at the corner. You ordered from the side walk at a counter.
I had the best taco I have ever had in my life there. To this day I couldn’t swear it wasn’t fido, but I don’t care it was delish!

In the time it took you to make that post, it’s already overcooked for my taste. :)

I believe the term "street tacos" covers a variety of the tacos de jour.

Your post brought back memories. :)
Many, many. MANY years ago my hubby and some of our friends went to the Mexican border. When we got there...I was both hungry and thirsty. I bellied up to a street side taqaria
and order a couple of tacos and water.
My hubby passed out. He didn’t get there in time to stop me.
Heck...I’m still here and the tacos were yummy.

order a couple of tacos and water.
I’d have much more scared of the water.
My grandparents bought property in NM, and I went out there the first time when I was 12. Gramps took us to Mexico, and I still remember his warning.
Have fun but if you drink the water out of the tap you’ll spend 2 days crapping(he didn’t use this word) out everything but your memories.
:)

One JITB I visited recently raised the price to $1.19 for two
Sniff sniff.
Back in 1996 I moved from Texas to Florida, which has no JITB. I came back for a visit to Texas, hit the JITB by the airport and bought 10 tacos, and are every single one.
I was even sober when I did it!
