Proof that cigarette and cigar smoking does not contribute to pulmonary problems and that PM plays no role in Americans health.

I was no angel but every pot user of the perhaps 20 I ever knew who smoked “regularly,” ie. bought it for personal use (hey, are we being frank here?) got stupider, slower, and poorer. I guess my experience was anomalous.

It sounds like a typical follow the money study.

Indeed. The unsubstantiated anecdote is the figleaf of the shallow thinker.

14 year-olds followed up at 36. Hey, no problema so far. Ask me again when I'm 56.

Sounds like an issue that should be decided by each state, rather than fedgov.

Think where he might have been had he not smoked so many box car loads....

Why am I suddenly reminded of the Somerset Maughan’s short story “The Verger”?

Well, I don’t know - unfortunately I don’t believe I’ve ever read it - if you find out why I’d sure like to know....

So did my husband, as a junior high and high school teen. He did stop, however, in his 20’s and went on to found a successful company.

Yabbut, it was cheap in the 70s and 80s, and different weed than the stuff today--at least from what I've smelled when I catch kids smoking on my property and run them off. Heavy skunk smell to this stuff.

I hear that weed lowers IQ. Obviously, these “researchers” are habitual users.

It was a rhetorical question — in the story a very successful man’s success depends upon having lost a job due to a failing of his youth. Your question echoed the penultimate line of dialogue in the story.

Aha - makes sense now - thanks....
To: Crazieman
I’ve known many successful former and current pot users who you would never know were. I could say alcohol users are all the same because I’ve seen tons of sloppy drunks who all act the same. Most people can handle it, some can’t.
