They look like tubifex worms:
” Tubifex tubifex, also called the sludge worm, or sewage worm, is a species of tubificid segmented worm that inhabits the sediments of lakes and rivers on several continents. Wikipedia “
They better check for some rather nasty bacteria too.

The big world is a nasty place. Lots of things want to kill you.

Looks like folks down there will need to floss carefully for the next few days.

“Winfree” sounds familiar... I think I remember their name on FR once upon a time for something...

I’d say he *is* a worm, but that would be insulting to worms.

I have six backflow prevention connections. Each year I must have them certified as functioning by a licensed master plumbing contractor. The best I can get on price is $50 each valve. To install new ones every year, which would be cheaper, I cannot because the county requires permits be pulled and code enforcement perform rough in and final inspections while the plumber has to wait for the inspector to show up. They only give a day, not a time.Ignoring the postcard I get to have the master plumber fill out and sign will run me a fine of over $1,000 for that many connection violations.

I saw this on the evening news. Nasty nasty!
I don’t know if I would call this a Surburb of Houston. It is pretty far to the east.

That area is about 30 miles or so east of downtown Houston.

Well, I can use a worm for fishing bait.
In a survival situation I could put them in my eggs for extra protein.
