If you’re looking for Leak Peepin go to NY city.

If you’re looking for Leaf Peepin go to NY Adirondacks.

Depends on the year. Some years the trees are truly ablaze with brilliant yellow, orange and red. Other years it can be pretty dull.

The Hudson River Valley can be quite spectacular and can areas in Connecticut like Litchfield County.

Adirondacks are marvelous. Lake Placid is a great [relatively] highbrow area with fine dining, quaint shops, and ridiculously scenic views. Bring warm layers.

Maine just permitted unlicensed open & concealed carry, if that interests you, and has magnificent coastal views too.

The Adirondacks around the Tri lakes area. Lake Placid/Tupper Lake/Saranac Lake.
It is NY so it’s enemy territory but it is the best in the Country. No contest.

I’m partial to the Finger Lakes Region of New York. Great scenery, quaint small towns and lots of wineries. Stay away from Ithaca and the area is fairly conservative.

As I understand it ... the best color follows a hard freeze for about a day

Yup. That home originally. Grew up in it. Nothing compares for beauty. Alaska maybe.

I think you mean Leek Peeping.

They're just about ready to harvest right around then. Not sure they're all that impressive to look at, but, hey, whatever floats yer boat.

Although I hate the state and everything it stands for all you need to know about "leaf peeping" is:

Vermont.
