Despite predictions that GOP frontrunner Donald Trumps incendiary comments on immigrants and POWs, among others, would sink his presidential campaign, Trump has maintained his poll lead and received backup from his allies at Fox News and conservative talk radio.
As Media Matters pointed out, conservative voices like Bill OReilly, Sean Hannity and the pundits on Fox shows like The Five and Fox & Friends, along with radio hosts like Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham, have all lent Trump support in recent days, treating him as a hero for standing up to liberal media bullies.
Foxs resident culture war reporter and super-patriot Todd Starnes has also been defending Trump, even after he said of POWs like John McCain: I like people who weren't captured.
Yesterday on Washington Watch, Starnes told Family Research Council President Tony Perkins that Trump is a voice for the voiceless: The American people see all of this and they see the illegals coming into our country, they see the massive surge from Islamic countries, immigrants coming here and towns and communities being overwhelmed, and they dont feel like anyone is hearing their voice, except for one person, Donald Trump.
Michael Savage, the right-wing talk show host who credited his book with shaping Trumps views on immigration, praised Trump this week as the leader of the entire conservative movement in America and maybe the world.
Hes the leader of the Western world, Savage said. Donald Trump has moved up to being the leader of the whole Western world right now with his love for America, love for borders, language, culture, family, military, hes the only one articulating those views

Here’s what he’s NOT doing: He’s not taking a bunch of polls to see what are popular issues. He’s throwing a bunch of stuff out there and he’s seeing what gets the most traction. He then runs with it and keep throwing things out until he see what other issues gets traction. In other words, he’s ACTUALLY reading the public mood real time and not depending on a bunch of polls that are a week or two old and in which people lie, misrepresent or aren’t really interested in the things the pollsters think they should be.
Throw Cruz in there and he takes Texas and some other southern states..possibly Florida as well with his hispanic cuban roots...
I have heard both Trump and Cruz called Clowns by FNC. Both have been dismissed as having no chance of winning the nomination.
George Will, who sits on the political panel, regularly bashes Trump, promising that there will be information coming out to discredit Trump. He has also made light of Cruz. Of course, his wife works for Walker.
Krauthammer has fawned over Rubio for months.
The majority have been in the tank for Jeb and must be panicking at his decline.
