that’s a fairy tale. republicans hired zillion dollar consultants after mittens lost a very winnable election, and the consultants spun this whole “pursue the hispanic vote or die” myth out of whole cloth. the simple truth is that we lost because we foolishly nominated the only guy in the entire party that couldn’t run against ACA because he pretty much invented it — and on top of that, he just generally sucked ass as a candidate.
the zillion dollar consultant didn’t think they could charge a zillion dollars for an explanation that simple.

I’m never voting to abandon the rule of law or surrender the country to fraudulently documented foreigners.
If we enforce the laws and build a fence we can keep both.
Fighting to get 30% of 13% of the electorate by advocating for amnesty when 65% of the citizens want the illegal alien inundation stopped and the laws enforced is just plain stupid.
