Trump Hits Critic George Will For Failing To Disclose Wife's Affiliation to Walker Campaign

GOP hopeful Donald Trump slammed conservative columnist George Will on Twitter Wednesday for failing to reveal that his wife works for rival Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s campaign.

“Shouldn’t George Will have to give a disclaimer every time he is on Fox that his wife works for Scott Walker?” tweeted Trump on Wednesday.

Mari Maseng Will is an advisor to Walker’s campaign, according to the Washington Examiner. Will disclosed his wife’s work in a June 3 Washington Post column but didn’t describe her role. The Examiner goes on to note all of the times Will praised Walker as a “pure Reaganite” and the GOP’s “most potent” candidate. He’s certainly not wrong: Walker resonates powerfully with the base and stormed a July 20 Iowa poll.

Will, however, has heaped withering scorn on Trump for years. In 2012, he attacked Mitt Romney for appearing with Trump after the real estate billionaire endorsed him, saying Trump was a “bloviating ignoramus.”

He’s called Trump a lot of names during this campaign cycle, including this odd insult: the “one-man Todd Akin,” as opposed to, say, Akin’s final two-headed form. (Maybe Will’s been reading too much Thomas “Two-Way Staircase” Friedman.)

Will’s wife previously worked for former Texas Gov. Rick Perry as a campaign spokeswoman in 2011, according to Politico.

Even a cursory look at who is bankrolling Walker's campaign puts the lie to the concept of "outsider"

He's an outsider only in the sense he has not yet held Federal office.

But every single dime he has, or hopes to have, will come from the GOPe big money donors.

And they will tell him which issues he can advocate according to his own conscience, and they will also tell him which issues on which he must tow the line.

This is not rocket science folks. An 8th grader can figure it out.

Walker was a pro-amnesty candidate for many years, until he started running for president, and then flipped. So he is a flip-flopper. I would like him better if he stuck to his pro-amnesty position. I can deal with honest politicians better than those who lie.

China and illegal immigration are two totally different topics, and not related to each other particularly, altho you seem confused on this.

The illegal invasion is an AMERICAN issue because they are invading AMERICA. They are coming here, taking our hand outs, and so on...and it is within our power to stop it. Why? Because American politicians run America.

American politicians do NOT run China. They never have, and they never will. I get it, China is a top heavy society where few if any of the population have any inkling for personal liberty, and they are all about China. The problem is, the vast majority of them are poor and will always be that way because of how their society is set up.

We can’t do a damned thing about it in China...what we can do is rid ourselves of our own liberalism, which is what China counts on. But no one obsessed with China understands that WE are the problem, NOT CHINA. You don’t vote in China. China doesn’t give a damn about Trump or any other candidate for that matter.

In 1980 the USA was the manufacturing powerhouse of the world and China then was an agricultural country. Now China is by far the top manufacturer in the world as the graphic below starts to show.

Now most industries have moved from the USA to China . there have been many reasons for this but the main reason is unfair trade deals , China's currency manipulation , and China's unfair trading practices. If the USA hadn't lost all those industries like PC manufacturing etc. to china then we wouldn’t have this debt and unfunded liabilities and declining job and living standards. Only Trump and I understand this . Most people do not especially most politicians as they seem bought and owned by China or businesses that do business with China. Yes I believe Trump can get some things started to be manufacture again in the USA in part by making other countries have a level playing field

Boy! It is so obvious that Trump has a world class team behind him. He must have an intel group finding everything out on his opposition.

I have also seen his chief of staff and his chief counsel Michael Cohen. I totally love Michael Cohen. This guy is ferocious and he has a New York accent that is quite colorful. When you see these people in interviews you come away with two impressions. The first is that they will do anything to defend their boss. The second is that they do not play to lose. They will tear you to pieces to get a win.

Trump is Trump but I also realize that the team behind him is very disciplined, polished and talented and they all know their roles. Trump could not have gotten to where he is right now were it not for this team we are beginning to see. The discipline in these people is a pleasure to behold and instills a lot of confidence. None of the other candidates have this kind of team.

Ok, look, I know you are a hyper-sensitive supporter of Trump...most of you are. Nothing negative can be said about The Donald. But, point out where I called you a name? I said you either have an agenda or you misread my post...so, no name-calling.

I have known for a long time about China...and, if you listened to say, Ted Cruz, China has been in the campaign for awhile as well. Interestingly, Trump seems to parrot most of the views espoused originally by Cruz.

You talk about China as if it is the only problem we have economically. We have jobs going overseas...not China’s problem, but an American tax problem. We have Russia taking over all of the petroleum in Europe...not a China problem. China is one issue, but not the only one. He has some clarity on this issue, but not on others.

Stop being so sensitive anytime someone questions you or your candidate. EVERY candidate deserves to be vetted...even my guy, Ted Cruz. And that is ok.

As for Liberal talking points...asking why Donald was a DEMOCRAT just a few short years ago, or why he invited Hillary to sit at his wedding, or his flipping on guns, immigration, etc...are fact based, not Liberal.

Man, why are Trump people such whiners? No wonder Donald gets a pass for always complaining how UNFAIRLY he is being treated.

Nobody is saying that we don’t enjoy him handing it to MSM...but, instead of focusing on the Iowa newspapers, why not STAND alongside Cruz yesterday when he took on McConnell?

Yes, he talked about immigration and a border fence. May I ask what it has done, exactly? Other than other people like Cruz introducing legislation against sanctuary cities, etc, what has he done? Nothing is moving through Congress and won’t until we beat the establishment.

Your candidate voted and pushed the obamatrade agenda TPA while Trump opposes it. obama will use TPA to pass the horrible TPP which he will use to destroy the USA in a thousand ways. TPP is the worst thing ever and this monster Obama has been working on it in secret for over 6 years putting in it a thousand ways to override U.S. immigration laws, SOPA , and gun laws etc.
