I once took two IQ tests on the same day.

One: 133

The other: 167, which is stupid high. Due to peculiarities of the test for me, it was inaccurate.

Tests vary. But I can assure you that the consensus of psychometricians is that IQ, properly measured, cannot be significantly raised after early childhood, if then.

We do know a bunch of ways, however, to bring IQ down.

IQ’s can vary upwards of 15 points from your personal mean average on any given day. There are many factors that are behind this.

From what I have read on IQ’s, it can be changed by somebody who is willing to work hard at it and keep working hard at it, though there are probably limits on how much more intelligent somebody can become from what they were born with.

A large part of this could be fixed by sending a lot more people to train in the skilled trades instead of getting a useless liberal arts degree (or flunking out without even that degree) to compete in retail.

Actually no, IQ will get blown out of the water with AI. Creativity is a bit harder nut to crack for machine intelligence, not that they aren’t trying.

IQ will be replicated by AI but not so much with creativity, of which IQ is a component.

How about “I sing the body electric.”

That was a beautiful story. It does not all have to be horror. What happens when we teach the AI about good and evil, we the people, god, or love? (not the physical but for life.)

Yes. Ironically, the little girl in the starring role of that episode was the sister of Angela Cartwright. Angela, now close to 60, played “Penny” on Lost In Space. I earlier posted a pic of a line of Lost In Space robots. The robots sell for something like $25,000 a piece!

There were actually a lot of episodes of The Twilight Zone that involved robots.

“These replicas include some way cool features, such as a 240 watt stereo sound system, 500 voice original voice tracks stored on internal Compact Flash memory, and iPod audio input. Robot B9 can be controlled via remote control keychain. My favorite feature has to be the removable power pack – remove his power pack and he says “Aaghhhhhh…” and shuts down, just like in the show. B9Creations is making about 30 B9 replicas per year, and you can have your very own for only 18 grand. (You can also have Richard Tufeld, the original voice of Robot B9 record your own custom phrases at additional cost.)

Materials
– Acrylic bubble based on the existing original.

– Laser cut steel brain with polished stainless steel top cover and crown.

– CNC machined light rod ends brain cup and neck bracket.

– Accurate acrylic collar & vents, hand formed based on the original jigs used.

– Fiberglass torso based on the original stone molds.

– Welded steel torso hooks.

– Laser cut aluminum bezel with engraved acrylic chest buttons.

– Machined & clear anodized aluminum microphone with stainless steel screen.

– Actual Dialight sockets and Lens (not reproductions!)

– Hundreds of individual parts fabricated from Fiberglass, acrylic, aluminum, steel, etc.

– All metal tread sections, knee plates and hinges.

– Real rubber tread belts, knee bellows, leg bellows, arms & neck bellows.

– 32 machined aluminum wheels with v-groove.
Accuracy / Season

– 3rd season version (paint & finish as seen in the final season).

– B9Creations was granted access to all remaining original materials. Needed items are on loan here for further study/duplication. All our parts are retooled based on this original material.

– B9Creations is leaving no stone unturned to produce the best possible replica of the Robot character, not the prop. In accordance with this focus, we will not replicate “prop” details that were never meant to be part of the Robot character nor meant to be seen by the viewers. (For example, we will not replicate dents, scratches, excessive texture, suit latches, etc.)

Audio features
– Internal 240 watt stereo sound system.

– Torso knob functions as Robot volume control.

– Over 500 voice tracks by Richard Tufeld, the voice of the original Robot. These are stored on an internal Compact Flash memory card to allow easy updates and customization.

– An external stereo input jack allows the user to override the built in voice library and use the Robot as a normal stereo system, juke box, etc.

Animation
– Animated Crown
– Animated Finger Lights
– Animated Ear Sensors
– Animated Torso Rotation
– Animated “functional” Soil Sampler

Control
– A 5 button key chain remote control allow you to discretely activate the Robot. Functions include turning the Robot’s torso left/right, directing the Robot’s voice to respond “Affirmative/Negative”, activating the Robot’s soil sampling sequence.

– The 10 chest buttons are functional and activate various phrases. These phrases can be customized by Richard Tufeld at an additional cost.

– Master power switch on the back of right tread section, next to power cord plug and external audio input jack.

– The “Programming bay” toggle switches will be used for Robot Activation, Audio Source Selection and animation enable/disable.

– Functional Power Pack – Pulling the Robot’s “Power Pack” will shut down the Robot with the “Aaghhhhhh…” sound, just as it did in the TV series. Plugging in the power pack activates the Robot and he will speak an appropriate phrase, “Who turned out the lights?”, etc.

– Torso knob functions as the Robot’s sound system volume control.

Articulation (user positionable)
– Torso is motorized and rotates via Remote Control
– Radar (head section) rotates
– Arms extend / retract
– Claws, rotate open and close in sync

” New ones will be created as new technologies are developed, engineered and maintained. And, overall, these will be better, more high-skilled jobs. The agriculture industry provides a case in point. “

Nope.... Most new jobs will go to the robots and Artificial Intelligence.

Any new job that requires a human will go overseas to the slave labor markets in Asia or Latin America.

Now you will not see this happen overnight, but you will see a slow bleeding of jobs. Just like it has been since NAFTA.

What about Robot Makers, developers, programmers and maintenance people?

I don’t think China makes the Japanese robots that assemble cars. They’re still made in Japan last I heard.

In earlier more primitive times you could be hard working, pious, honest person and live decently even if you weren’t a high IQ over achiever. Today’s society is not designed for the < 100 IQ types.

“What about Robot Makers, developers, programmers and maintenance people?”

Where do they make all the new smart phones, tablets, phones, computers, etc right now? Overseas...

The jobs you are talking about above will probably go to India, China and Japan. Perhaps even Mexico?
