The two planes that collided Tuesday morning were an F-16 fighter and a Cessna 150, according to the National Transportation Safety Board, which said it is investigating the collision. The accident occurred about 11 a.m., the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.
A spokesman for Berkeley County said the two planes collided over Lewisfield Plantation in Moncks Corner, a town about 45 minutes north of Charleston. The county government said it is setting up a command center in that town, which is near Lake Moultrie.
Debris has been seen on land as well as in the water, officials said Tuesday.
The pilot of the F-16 Fighting Falcon safely ejected, according to a statement from Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, S.C., where the aircraft originated. Authorities from the base said it was gathering a team of investigators to determine what happened.

By this time I would expect fighter Radar to be able to do multiple missions in one unit if they don’t have multiple RADARS (like the old ECM pods). Weapons RADAR, Bogey RADAR, Weather RADAR, Nav RADAR, etc.
B-1 likely did not “see” you until they could pick you up visually.
I hope you were at least talking to someone, not under ATC control, but talking to someone to let them know you were in the MTR. At any rate, unless it is restricted or controlled airspace you need not talk to anyone, but is a good thing to do.
Airplanes can fly, it’s the helicopters that are questionable.
They have a radar. Have no idea what a “bogey” radar is, or a “Nav” radar or a “Weapons” radar.
They have an A/A and A/G mode and that changes the type of returns and images and information.
Yeah. . .I hear they beat the air into submission.

Look into what automobiles now have in the way of forward looking RADARS for anti-collision work.
And was the Cessna talking with ATC? In the MOA, if the mishap happened there, the jets are talking to each other and monitoring ATC. Some flights can not be seen by ATC (will not go into how that happens but it can and does happen by small aircraft as well as larger ones). And certain maneuvers cause the contact to be undetectable or drop off.

We don't have “weather” radar. No need. Nice to have on a boring cross country but not needed for missions. Bottom line is we don't know what happened, we have no details and no usable information other than two aircraft collided. All comments trying to assess blame are speculation based on nothing.
Was wondering the same thing, still haven’t heard. Glad the military pilot is ok.
