Dr. Farid Fata put hundreds of people through hell in order to line his own pockets, and now federal prosecutors are seeking to put the Detroit-area oncologist away for 175 years. Fata has admitted that he misdiagnosed patients 553 of them, according to prosecutors and ordered chemotherapy and other unnecessary treatments for patients who didnt even have cancer, report NBC News, which says some 9,000 needless injections or infusions were allegedly given.

Post 18.
Fata deliberately sought out foreign docs he thought could be kept quiet.
The upside is he had a 100% “cure” rate. For the ones who survived, anyway.
We have dear friends wife that had MS and we saw how that disease stripped her of her life day by day..
Needless to say we were mortified...
Of course we got a second opinion which took about four weeks to get an appointment...
When we went and he did an actual brain scan, he came back into the room and asked why in the world did we think my wife had MS...her brain scan was clean and the couple of white spots were from a bump on the head or a migraine from years ago...
When we told him it was our regular doctor, he just shook his head and told us to have a nice life...
I cannot tell you what it was like living with a MS diagnosis thinking our life was going to be fundamentally changed forever...
This guy should be shot at dawn...
A name like that guarantees a second opinion.
Thanks. Glad he was wrong.
I normally don’t advocate the death penalty for anything short of murder, but in this case I’m tempted to make an exception.
Always get a second opinion
He needs to die.
Yep.
Bastard. Should make him get every treatment he had people get because they thought they needed them. Same for any other “doctors” that helped him. Just the mental hell he put people in thinking they might die deserves the death penalty.
Lucked out about not having any other treatments (so far) because I have seen a lot of people going through chemo since last November while getting my iron infusions and I hope I never have to be there for anything but iron.
I know with my family history and having this cancer makes my chances fairly high I will eventually have to make that choice.
Best of luck to you and your family.
Absolutely. I would do that irrespective of the Doctor who issued the diagnosis.
For the clown in question, a web search revealed he speaks Arabic and English. Also, He allegedly submitted fraudulent claims to Medicare, raking in $35 million in a two-year period.
Makes me wonder how much of that went to, shall we say, "charitable causes."
I agree with George Costanza.
GEORGE: How could you be a doctor and not say “get outta here”? It should be part of the training at medical school: “Cancer? Get outta here!”
" I have a great doctor..Dr. Schwartz...wonderful doctor. Told me I had 6 months to live. I couldn't pay his bill, so he gave me another 6 months.."
So do I. My doctor referred me to a specialist with a Muslim/Arab name. I refused and told him definitely no way. I got a real American doctor instead.
I was just reading about this case here:
What a nightmare. May justice be served.

Amen.
He deserves life in a pound it in your a** federal prison and every nickel he has amassed should be divided among his victims. Too bad if his family ends up living in a van down by the river.
