Our rabbi say “NO” Period.
Our rabbi said “NO” Period.
"I am Lurker!!!!!"
Same here. He preached about THEIR ‘liberty’.....not OURS. Said if we didn’t follow the ‘law of the land’......then quit your job.
I like the first version better
They try to take me to Sodom
I say NO, NO, NO
wow. I don’t think I would have waited until the end to get out of that place.
I thought the gay marriage ruling was going to separate the church wheat from the church chaff.
I don't remember any cities that were destroyed by God over gossip or adultery, as bad as those sins are. He nuked a couple over homosexuality, though.
Came out and said scotus is wrong, we’re gonna keep preaching the Word, we’re gonna keep preaching the Gospel as the unsaved need Jesus.
I think the ancient Greeks did.
Here is the Livestream for my church:

She? There’s part of the problem right there
Preached love of all. Said the church can no longer be about what we are against, but what we are for. Also said man’s law is not God’s law. No word if he would perform a homosexual wedding.
I spotted that too, but couldn’t quite figure out how to put it.
Well done.
Absolutely.
We got a homily about the demons sewing discord and the need to resist by prayer. Of course that fit with appointed the Gospel — the Gerasene demoniacs — had oblique applications to American society including the issue at hand, and direct application to the annoying facts that our Patriarchate is now out of communion with the Patriarchate of Jerusalem over their anti-canonical installation of a bishop in Qatar, part of Antioch’s canonical territory, and that our Patriarch is trying to use our participation in the preparatory meetings for the Great and Holy Council (supposedly to take place next year) as a bargaining chip.
Of course, there is no question among us Orthodox what marriage is, and no question of bowing to the secular authorities’ attempt to redefine the word, so we didn’t really need a homily on the matter.
Excellent idea - I have been wondering what was getting said out there in the pulpits across the land. What advice are these pastors giving to business owners and employees of large corporations and members of the military, as well as students at govt.schools & universities who are suffering firsthand the Gay/Fascist agenda: cooperate or lose your job/degree/church/freedom.
Not even the Greeks did that. They were very much pro heterosexual marriage, for reproductive purposes, but they never had government-sanctioned homosexual marriage.
I’m steaming. Crickets last week. This week, our young priest announced that he’d had a meeting with the pastor to be sure that they were both on the same page.
Our Catholic priest, of just about a year, said that 1/3 of our church will hold a firm line: “rules are rules”. 1/3 of our church will say “things change all the time. We might as well go along with it”. 1/3 won’t care either way.
Moreover we should sincerely wish the person sitting next to us “peace” at the sign of peace because we have no way of knowing whether they had ever been insulted at some time of their life.
I don’t think there has been any direction from the bishop that I have heard. Official discussion this week was on Global Warming and the Pope’s encyclical.
When my husband spoke to the priest after Mass, the priest just said, “I’m just trying to keep people in the pews.”
I’m furious.
Yeah, our priest said that too.
