A lot of empty heads probably consider the rainbow flag fad and SCOTUS ruling as a short feel good moment in the name of civil rights.
Many in the church realize the ramifications for this are huge. If the events in the last two weeks didn't wake up the church, I'm not sure if anything will.
I'm curious...what did your pastor\priest or rabbi say about the recent ruling and pro-homosexual agenda sweeping our nation this or previous Sunday?
Conservative Catholic Parish stood by teachings on homosexual behavior as being “intrinsically disordered” and the spoke against the fraud of “Gay Marriage”.
The pastor has stuck to a series of sermons he began before the late June rulings.
We had a big tropical storm
Church was cancelled due to 15 inches of rain in 12 hours
“Many in the church realize the ramifications for this are huge.”
That’s putting it mildly. Never before in the history of written history has ANY government ever given recognition and support to homosexual marriage. NEVER! Why? Because they knew it was national suicid to do so.
Our elite want to depopulate the Earth to a very small percentage of what it is today. This is how you go about it in one very big way. The goal is to destroy the institution of marriage, and thus the family, and then the population collapses.
Good point; unfortunantly the America people see it as an extension of “sexual freedom”. And they like sex and freedom; hence “sexual freedom” wins out.
My preacher said exactly what I expected: That the church does not endorse or approve of gay marriage, that we should love the sinner in order to bring more to Christ, but that this decision is a omen of persecution to come.
Psalm 127:1 “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.”
I can’t bear to go to church anymore
I want to make an observation. It’s dogma on FR that the homosexual crowd represents 2% of the population. That was probably accurate in our recent past. Unless you believe homosexuality to be exclusively genetic, that number will, and probably already has gone up. Sodom was given over to this behavior in Genesis.
This nation has chosen a path, and it is a choice. The result of glorifying and incentivizing any behavior is more of it.
Our milquetoast Wesleyan pastor only said to pray for our country. He did not specifically mention homosexual marriage. I will be looking for another church to attend.
Not a peep.
In the prayers, our pastor prayed that the ungodly would not continue to triumph in our land and that repentance and a return to Jesus’s teachings would save our nation from God’s punishment.
This needs to be a constant thread, posted every Sunday night. It might be real intersting, I would follow it closely. I am a lurker.
That the sexual revolution led to this. If you look at it that way, then those who supported the sexual revolution through their actions are just as much at fault as the SCOTUS.
Last week, no mention at all. This week, a guest pastor who paused to say he “had to say something,” said that its a “tragedy that 9 [unelected] individuals are permitted to change God’s and the People’s law.” Said now poligamy and incest now a distinct likelyhood. I’m paraphrasing his words.
Our priest told us that our readings and Gospel this week all related to the rejections of the Prophets, Saint Paul, and our Lord and that our faith must hold firm. He told us that we must keep faith to weather the persecutions which will come.
Our pastor addressed homosexuality as same-sex attraction, a manifestation of one sin among many that afflicts fallen sinners.
Trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ offers the way of escape from besetting sins, but it will always be a battle to resist...a continual dying to sin, of taking up your particular cross in the battle against temptation.
Big difference between that struggle and being totally, willfully, continually, given over to any sin...lying, adultery, stealing.
The church of Jesus Christ must stand for loving and supporting the struggling soul...aren’t we all?
The church of Jesus Christ must stand for Truth regardless of the cost. (at least we aren’t having our heads chopped off yet!)
That’s what I heard in church today.
My pastor said much the same thing.
Our Pastor actually welcomes the coming persecution because he believes it will bring more opportunity to spread the Gospel.
