A lot of people in town will think it was another Doug. Think of the shock and the relief.

Are you sure he wasn’t Frank?

Maybe it should just say “Doug grave”.

Years ago my father used to joke that when he died, as people approached the open casket at the wake, he’d have a button on the railing that said “push here”. A recording of him would come on and say “Hi! This is Pete, thanks for coming! Didn’t the morticians do a wonderful job? It almost looks like I’m not even dead!....... Etc. Etc”

“He said he didnt want a detailed narrative of his life.”
I like the idea. Years ago a woman I worked with lost her father, who was rather prominent in this area. I had to wade through this lengthy obit of his entire life before I could get to the pertinent details of his funeral. Thank goodness I'm not that important or memorable. My obit should be short.

I guess I can now remove the "Beware of Doug" sign from my front lawn. 😀

Not unless ‘fatnotlazy’ is a Dem, which I very much doubt.

I had an uncle who sadly took his own life due to the onset of Alzheimer's disease. He was a wonderful jokester and story teller and the funeral home director was one of his best friends.
For the viewing, the undertaker dressed Uncle Boyd in his pajamas, hunting boots, orange hunting cap and rifle (Uncle Boyd was an avid bear and deer hunter)........
