BRISTOL: Choosing Humiliation Over Convenience: “The Five” Comes to My Defense
Patheos.com ^ | July 2, 2015 | Bristol Palin

Posted on 07/02/2015 1:54:00 PM PDT by Resettozero

Thank you to “The Five” co-host Greg Gutfeld for calling out the media for their absurdity!

The Daily Caller reports: “The Five” co-host Greg Gutfeldblasted Bristol Palin’s haters Tuesday after her pregnancy announcement, saying they “would have been more supportive” if she simply had an abortion.

The Fox News personality went on to praise the daughter of Sarah Palin for choosing “humiliation over convenience,” adding that she “took the pain, for it was more humane.”

“I get it, of course, the media would have been more supportive if she had an abortion. But then if she had, they never would have known she had the abortion and would miss out on the laughs. So good for them that she chose a pulse over a procedure and its burdens and punishment,” Gutfeld said.

How pathetic is it that the media would be more supportive of me if I had chosen to kill my baby? Instead, they mock me because I am willing to choose to do what is natural and right—keep my precious baby. And as a reminder, I never worked or pushed abstinence down anyone’s throat! I have always promoted pro-life and teen pregnancy prevention over all. Never once has it been “abstinence only”

I’ve messed up, but I’ve owned up to my mistake and am trying to move forward. I’m so excited to raise my little blessing and see all that God has in store for this precious life!

(Thanks to the people at The Five for their comments.)

Uh Yeh! She made about $12 million in one year two or three years ago. Good for her. She doesn’t speak for free.

Bristol, darlin’.

Around here, we call folks that talk the talk, but don’t walk the walk, hypocrites.

At least we used to.

I don't think she minds as long as she can hurt and embarrass her mother to keep her from running for another office.

What the media LOVES is when the people who are against rampant unmarried (and teen) sex get caught. They are ok with rampant sex like squirrels everywhere. And they think its ok if their liberal kind keeps the baby OR aborts. It’s not ok, to libs, if someone trying to help prevent teen pregnancy gets whoops pregnant.

The way libs set up their rules, it’s Heads, I win, Tails, you lose.

Not at all. But a decent family with money can certainly provide for a child without a father. Lots of us grew up that way.

The problem comes in when people, including many here, share the MSNBC/VIEW view of the Palins being a decent family.

Yeah, but about half of that goes to taxes right off the top. Then there’s supporting the family, Trig, etc.

One could take your reasoning and say that married parents simply don’t matter. Children born to “decent families” will do well, irrespective of marriage, and those born to not-decent families will do poorly, regardless.

Such research as we have doesn’t support the contention that married parents are an irrelevant factor, but given the societal trend, it would certainly be helpful if that were true.

“Jeez only $30k for speaking. Chelsea gets $62k a pop.”
________________________________________________

As I am certainly not a fan of the Clintons, I’m going to kick myself for saying this....

But

Chelsea Clinton is nothing like Bristol. She is the daughter of a President. She has a bachelors degree and two Masters degrees. She WAITED until she was married to have a kid. She chooses not to post her personal life all over social media and blogs.
I’m not saying she is someone to be adored. She’s not. But she is also not begging for attention like Bristol is. CC isn’t trashing everyone out there 2 to 3 times a week and then crying that everyone is against her and that they should respect her privacy.

I know I will get flamed for this. Realize, I’m not defending Chelsea as much as pointing out the hypocrosy in Bristol Palin. They are on completely different levels of the spectrum. CC = Any other Corporate muckity muck that will stab you in the back to move up the ladder.
BP = Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, and the lot....

Nonsense. A big part of the criticism has because she get's pregnant again after raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars promoting abstinence. Had she gotten an abortion then they would have called her an even bigger hypocrite.

This girl just can’t shut up.

Why should she? Have you followed her on her Patheos blog or on Facebook? I'm proud of her for the work she does. It's too bad so many here take their information from the very sources they claim to hate and mistrust at other times.

Bristol Palin's heart is in the right place. I suggest targeting the 50% of the population that isn't in the right place.

My reasoning is just that A child i better with original single parent than two adopted parents, assuming the single original parent/family can provide for them.

Because the original parent IS the original parent.

Now ideally we have two original married parents. That is a given. Arguing anything else is insanity. And to be sure tow adoptive parents are a great and wonderful thing.

Thats not the situation. The situation is a single parent that can and most likely will provide a good home for the child no different/better/worse than tens of millions of other families.

Now WHY a bunch of people on the internet FEEL, like most liberals, that they get to look down their noses when it is a dead set certainty that their own families have their own share of dysfunction in someone elses eyes, I am at a loss to explain other than understanding fully that most of these people are completely full of Alaskan Grizzly feces and they think it’s cool to show it in public like a trophy.

I have. The following is from her blog. “ And as a reminder, I never worked or pushed abstinence down anyone’s throat! I have always promoted pro-life and teen pregnancy prevention over all. Never once has it been “abstinence only””

From her 2010 speech, “Abstinence is not about morality, it is about reality. It is the only thing that works every time. My message is a simple one: Don’t make the same decision I made, just wait. Young ladies, please hear me.”

oopsie.

You're right about that! When I see someone apply the endearment darlin' to someone they go to some lengths to scorn, I think, "Geez! What a hypocrite!"

"Why should she? Have you followed her on her Patheos blog or on Facebook? "

No. I'm not interested in doing so.

"I'm proud of her for the work she does. It's too bad so many here take their information from the very sources they claim to hate and mistrust at other times.

I'm not taking suggestions, so save yours.

The work she does might have lost a bit of its credibility, do you think?

Bottom line, I have no patience with living one's life on social media, craving attention, and then demanding privacy when she gets some responses she doesn't like. And she's still whining.

This is the second kid who'll be deprived of a father. I have no use for the culture's current attitude that dads are a throwaway item, nor those who take part...regardless of the baby mama's last name.
