From a data security perspective, we far exceed PCI requirements. Federal Banking Regulators have a different (read that: higher) set of standards we have to meet.
I'm not responsible for data security, but know the folks who are. During my 8 years at the bank I don't recall us ever getting hit or an audit point for data security.

Win10 sounded fine until I heard it will share your wifi password with everyone online. > That's like saying pistols sounded like a good idea until you heard they'll shoot you in the foot.
Oh come on. Pistols don't shoot you in the foot BY DEFAULT, such that you have to work to "OPT OUT" in order to avoid being shot in the foot.
There's a world of difference between "It can do X" and "It does X by default unless you go out of your way to make it do something else".

“Free Upgrade” to Windows 10 = Subscription.
Sorta like the free modem the cable companies offer.
W10 subscription takes ownership of several system services. If the subscription is not paid the computer loses significant online functionality.

I understand that the "enabled by default" applies to Windows 10. Windows phones have apparently had this feature for a couple years; I assume it was not enabled by default, given that people didn't freak out about it like they are about Win 10's implementation.
I hope that the default will get changed before release at the end of the month. I hope this "enabled by default" was a trial balloon, that was not received well.

I hope this "enabled by default" was a trial balloon, that was not received well.I expect the default will be that it's disabled in RTM. They tell you right up front that what's in the CTP may not be the same in RTM. The whole point of CTP is for testing and feedback, and I suspect they enabled it by default in that CTP version to make sure it gets tested. I don't see any reason why they'd ship it with a different default setting than the same feature on the phone. It would run counter to the whole objective of a "common experience" between desktop and mobile devices.

VirtualBox is pretty easy. If you can install XP on a PC and install software on XP, you would have no problems that I can imagine.
