After five minutes of talking to you in pre-op, the anesthesiologist told the sedated patient, I wanted to punch you in the face and man you up a little bit, she was recorded saying...When a medical assistant noted the man had a rash, the anesthesiologist warned her not to touch it, saying she might get some syphilis on your arm or something, then added, Its probably tuberculosis in the penis, so youll be all right....The anesthesiologist, Tiffany M. Ingham, 42, could not be reached for comment,...did not discourage Ingham from her comments or actions, which included writing on the mans chart that he had hemorrhoids, when he did not.

Human dignity is not something which should be mocked without good reason. I don’t care if it is a doctor or a cop or whatever.
“Human dignity is not something which should be mocked...”
Yes. IMHO, if this is how she acts when a person is sedated.. being extremely vulnerable.. I not only question her professionalism but her actions as well. Shows a utter disregard for the patient.

According to this, She’s a Major in the 123rd Air Lift Wing, Kentucky ANG.
Correction:
Maj. Tiffany Ingham, an anesthesiologist from the 920th Aeromedical Staging Squadron at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla.,
It’s a public scandal, so my guess is she’s white.
Sorry, but make her black (or a few others) and this story doesn’t fly.
I have worked as a hospital RN for 36 years.
Words fail me.
I was a confidential morbidity and mortality clerk in a teaching hospital, I took an oath for specific cases but not about the whole system, the only thing they fear is peer review of adverse medical incidents, say this formula to see them snap to and blood drain from their faces, “I’m concerned that my relative’s care is falling below the standard, please refer her case to departmental conference”.
Falsifying a chart like that. Imagine if he had gotten invasive treatment for his non-existent condition.
This whole thing reminds me of a Benny Hill joke...
Man to Benny: “I did not come here to be insulted!”
Benny to Man: “Where do you normally go?”
The behavior of the physicians was completely unprofessional. However, this sounds like a setup. It would be very easy to act like a jerk in pre op to the staff, antagonize them, then hid a recorder so you can hear what is said while you are anesthetized .Then sue.
I see your point but still I agree with cmj328, on falsifying the chart, that is scary now that you say it that way. Then again would not the doc doing hemmorids surgery not notice there are no hemmorids when he/she does the treatment?
Bs alert in a way
1. You go to surgery center.
2. You change clothes and they all go in a bag
3. Bag with personal effects is septic. Does not go into OR.
4. Case is finished, patient goes to recovery and is reunited with clothes.
5. From the time you disrobe until you awaken in recovery probably exceeds recording time/ memory on phone.
Net: if the patient’s phone was on the OR during the procedure, someone else brought it in and started the recording.
Doesn’t all make sense but I didn’t read it too carefully
They cover and cover and cover for easch other. Things have to get horrible before they will reprimand one of their number.
They are necessary but think they are indispensable. In reality, they are simply another cog in the wheel of services to society.
They are taught they are gods but the truth is they are only well educated humans. People live, people die and they all eventually die of course.
They are well educated because we other humans dicatate that, need them and pay well for their education even before they collect a fee.
If there is any justice and peer policing and professional ethics this person should be drummed out of practice with heer license revoked.
Won’t happen. She will run until she finds a hole deep enough to hide in.
If she told them things and wrote things on the chart that were demonstrably false of course she should be fired
A colonoscopy is not a clean procedure, especially when some patients do not prep themselves well. For that reason, they could have been lax in what a patient brings with them to the procedure room.
Looks like I found someone who can treat my tuberculosis of the penis...
When I got an endoscopy (hopefully with different instruments than the colonoscopy) I didn't even have to get undressed. They just had me put on a hospital gown over my clothes to keep them from getting dirty if any fluids came up when they removed the tube.
They said I might feel "slightly drowsy" during the procedure. They gave me enough to knock me out for a good half hour.
In spite of all the education, I’ve seen doctors at pretty odd hours. They are on call, and some have a lot of responsibility. There are going to be some bad ones, and some really good ones. I think the good ones more than earn their pay.
Yes, and so do a lot of other people with big responsibilities that go on day and night just the same. We all have a job to do and the bigger the job and the more responsibility the more we earn.
I’ve known a few really good doctors and some more that were just about equally sorry. Just like people. There are good ones and bad ones.
