The kids all want to go.They also have it in 3D.
Don’t forget Reptilicus!
People getting chased by dinosaurs is now proven universally entertaining and independent of language.
or Gorgo!
or Dinosaurus!
or The valley of Gwangi!
And many others by other producers!
Even some really awful movies! One about finding dinosaurs in Antarctica!
why? movies are some good clean fun
Me too. The plot is ridiculous. Nothing will be anything surprising.
This bodes well. The sequels were so flipping bad. The original was not quite up to the Crichton book, but it was a very good movie. If this is 90% of the original or more, then it should be a fun movie. Can’t wait until it comes out on Netflix.
By the time this one is done, it will probably gross about $1.3 billion. For an investment of $380 million over the 4 films, they're grossing about $3.3 billion... about ten times as much for the return. Not a bad way to go.
And for $3.3 billion, they probably could build the actual park at this point... and they might even be wise enough to only generate herbivores, by now.
(Even spread over 20 years, these four movies alone have grossed more than the Marshall Islands have as an entire nation over that time... and that's not including the toys and games and video games, etc.)
I saw it, it was awesome!
“Did any lawyers get eaten in this one? “
No but they breed Raptors again.....
apparently it’s going to make a bundle
Indeed. A tremendous amount of old gold out there to be mined. It has become the bulk of my entertainment.
I am surprised no one caught on to the beginning of the movie. The family during the winter is sending their two boys off to the island to meet their aunt who is supposed to be running the amusement park. In the movie at the airport, Christmas music is playing in the background. This had a feel more for a Christmas Day release than a summer release. Why? Because usually when a movie plays Christmas music in the opener or has something to do with Christmas that is when it is to be released. I feel the Star Wars crowd would have made this movie less money opening on Christmas and the powers that be decided to open this during the summer instead for a larger crowd. With the summer movies being really really light on a major blockbuster Jurasic World was the summer savior in the end. And before anyone notes, yes usually winter themed movies come out in the summer and summer themed movies come out in the winter. This also led me to believe this was preemptively released for a summer going box office crowd to garner a larger box office intake. I wouldn’t say it was the best movie of the summer but it has made the most money thus far this year. Only Star Wars when released later this year will do better.
If the kids a squeamish during a horror movie, please wait to see this at home. I sat next to a couple with a young daughter. She was constantly up and down and the parents were constantly talking to her during the show. This was very distracting to say the least. If the kid is too squeamish to watch the movie, please remove the child from the theater so other movie goers can watch in a peaceful setting. The theater I went to has a lights up sound down showing so before you interject negatively there are other options in which to take a child to a movie like this. To give you an idea, the theater I went to had D-Seats where the seats rumble and grumble with the action of the movie. I sat in the third row from the back of the theater and about 10 rows from the D-Seats. I felt the rumble of the movie and my seat wasn’t even a d-seat. So you know that had to scare the beejeevees out of the child when the movie was showing the foot of the dinosaur walking.
People, movie-goers specifically, like dinosaurs.
Ah yes...the Mosasaur. A long time favorite of mine. The all time maritime bad-ass
